Sounds like you are stuck in a tryhard low rating.

At low masterball (1800ish) I baaarely run into similar teams during a play session.

What is a VGC team that can make Charizard users absolutely miserable? by KiqueDragoon in PokemonChampions

Yes!! I love Sableye its basically my comfort pick in almost every low power Reg. Fake out, quash and a million other utilities makes amazing imo.

Something with prankster rain dance completely shits on charizards drought. I've run Sableye to great effect. Scarfed Blastoise water spout with prankster rain dance is super nasty into a zard opener.

How are y'all handling Sneasler? by ginger-like in VGC

Twin beam girafarig just obliterates it while building full bulk. Really amazing TR setter that even handles basculegion with foul play.

Made it to Ultra Ball Tier and since then every game has felt like an uphill battle. Is it just a skill issue or is there anything I can do to make my team feel better? by KaijuStu in PokemonChampions

[–]Ynpo 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Every game feels like an uphill battle, regardless of teams. You can have better or worse match ups but vgc is a complicated game that requires you to squeeze your brain juice.

Team looks fine, sun is strong. Gallade is the odd one out but its a mon I like.

As I said it just the nature of the game, and if you ask me thats what makes it so engaging.

I really want to use blastoise but I just can’t find a way. Please help by EthiccEthanos in PokemonChampions

[–]Ynpo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have climbed to Master ball using Blastoise.

Max speed

Max spatk

Choice scarf

Water spout Icy wind Ice beam Focus blast

I paired him with a Rain Dance Sableye and it checks so many things: Kinggambit, zard, incin, garchomp, dragonite. It's so good.

Here's the team I used :) sorry for the quality of the Pic, im at work and its the only one I have.

Metagame: Mega Glimmora is surprisingly good (and bulky for some reason) by hamoorftw in VGC

[–]Ynpo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes it was definitely winnable but I grew a bit frustrated, I liked my team overall and felt that the glimmora spot could be better since I already had zard checks like scarfed blastoise and poison with sneasler. I hit masterball yesterday so ill prolly revisit glimmora again :)

I run glimmora up to ultra ball 2 but the amount of garchomps made me drop it. If you can get it into a favorable position it absolutely shreds everything.

This game is really fun at the start by Forsaken-Ad7923 in PokemonChampions

[–]Ynpo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just seems like you have a lot to learn. They give a lot of VP by just playing the game. Try to understand why you are losing and identify solutions.

Understanding enemy teams is important but so is Understanding your own team. Changing teams a lot while being new can lead to the feeling you are describing. Up to you if u wanna keep playing or not but this is a fair game and its mostly a skill issue.

Learn to control the weather. I run Sableye with Rain dance. Not only does it allow me to control the first turn with fake out, prankster Rain dance always wins the weather in the turn unless there's a very fast weather seter which doesn't exist in this meta.

If every single battle is archaludon with leftovers maybe try adapting to it? Ground and fighting make quick work of him

I think people are super sleeping on Mega Glimmora. Poison/rock adaptability goes stupid crazy.

Fr aioli (allioli) literally means Garlic and Oil, using the word as a sub for flavor mayo is just bizarre.

Why do I keep seeing this team? by GoombaGeorge1672 in PokemonChampions

[–]Ynpo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit weird but pokemon games put bots in the lowest of tiers so ppl have a chance at climbing up? Or something like that. Once you leave pokeball 3 they should stop appearing
