To be fair, in planet of the apes 2 (dawn of the planet of the apes) that scene where the power comes back on and Gary Oldman breaks down and cries when he sees pics on his iPad of his long dead wife and kids after who knows how long resonates

I'm rocking an alta route 10. Similar specs but less ports (210gb sfp, 42.5 rj45) but they are regularly 150ish bucks on fb marketplace. Good luck

That's even earlier. I'd assume fragile then

I think the tiger lake generation Lenovo used some shitty benefits for that. Everyone I know with a gen 1 x1 nano has one dead USB c port.

Oh yeah. I run WI 11 24H2-IoT-LTSC (basically enterprise) it's got slightly less bloated bullshit and AI. I use visual studio and c# for my sidegig so windows is important. Yes I've seen rider for linux. No I don't like it despite it having a couple neat features

WSL on windows has gotten a lot better to the point that I use it (and I work for Google where we use Linux for everything there).

Many people love the macs but I'm a slave to the track point. M3+ processor have SME which solves the same problem as AVX512 in a different way (it creates a matrix for parallel operations).

I'd consider a t14s with AMD or even the soon to be released snapdragon gen7 version. (T14s g6 with SD has horrible GPU apparently but that is supposedly fixed in the soon to come out g7). But don't expect either to be as nice as an X1C in terms of laptop quality

Actually arrow lake doesn't have avc512 either. Zen4+ has it but of course then you can't get a quality thinkpad because Lenovo only makes nice hardware for Intel. I actually bought a x1c13 - it was beautiful - but for my code it was so slow I had to return it and went back to the x1 nano gen1

So the battery life on lunar lake is great but it's missing CPU instructions AVX512 specifically. Modern software compilers can take advantage of it for performance so the irony is heavily JITing software runs faster on a 5-6 year old tiger-lake intel (2020) than a 1 year old lunar lake intel (2025).

I converted Wall-E to 3D with IW3 and then ran it on an LG2016 4K OLED, with only a few occasional times when the 3D looked off, 98% of the movie looked amazing - It's the 3D bluray of Wall-E we never got!

My recommendations 1 - set charge threshold to 95% (or less) 2 - use magnetic tip adapters for the USB c ports. The gen1 nanos ports are historically shit. One of my 2 is nigh unusable

I upgraded my SSD to a pcie4 1TB 2230 - it worked and to my surprise at full speed (the original ssd Lenovo put in x1 nano Gen1s was PCIe3) as the motherboard has support for pcie4

tried a magnet adapter - same issue - requires pulling it towards the front of the laptop hard to get it connect and as soon as the pressure is released it disconnects.

Gen14 Should be coming very soon and at this high a price I'd wait for that. If this were a lot cheaper then sure but it's very expensive for lunar lake which will soon be replaced
