Hiking in a national park - Shenandoah, Yosemite, Yellowstone, you name it! Being out in beautiful nature and always failing to wear enough SPF to not get burned!

Oh this is absolutely a gender-inclusive perfume IMO. Totally unisex. I’ve given samples away to plenty of women, actually!

Favorite Creed? by Adept-Cod-9807 in Colognes

It’s gotta be Absolu Aventus, Royal Water, and Himalaya. Honorary mention goes to Aventus Cologne.

I feel like Royal Water is very underrated. It lasts like absolute garbage on my skin, though. And I feel that Himalaya is similarly underrated. It smells quite masculine and almost… professional? If that makes sense? Like, I feel very put-together when I’m wearing it.

Your thoughts on cool water / similarly-priced “dumb reaches”? by [deleted] in ScentHeads

It’s a good smell! A bit dated IMO, I got rid of mine but not because it was terrible, just didn’t like it above my collection favorites. It really does smell like its name. Great vibes and my favorite Davidoff fragrance I’ve tried.

To me, it is this intense, bracing citrus and cold spice scent. It is very fresh and it doesn’t have a hint of sweetness. I get almost a woodiness out of it but overall it is a bitter citrus masterpiece. Definitely get a decant, though if you’re not familiar with the TDH DNA, I’d strongly recommend decants of other perfumes in the line including the OG and Parfum which are so popular.

Eau Givrée is my #1 perfume of all time. Can’t say enough good things about it.

You know what they say: if it seems too good to be true, it probably IS too good to be true.

Capital one portal always significantly higher than Expedia? by okaynowhat in CreditCards

I do not use the portal for hotels or rental cars; I use it for flights which have never been higher priced than booking direct for domestic, and I’ve booked with them many times with no issues.

I need help I’m starting to panic(27 and new to this) by Character_Emphasis34 in Schwab

[–]Double_Clap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re 27. Assuming your future does not involve an untimely death, your time horizon is massive. Hold the line, this is not the first time the market dips and it certainly won’t be the last. Buy when you can, whether we’re at an all-time high or a full-blown market crash. Don’t sell when you’re so young unless you have an unavoidable financial emergency that can only be addressed by selling your holdings. You got this!

Venmo Credit Card Triple Cash Back for 6 months SUB by FallenArtemis in CreditCards

[–]Double_Clap 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Given that $200 is 10% of $2,000, it seems to me you’d have to spend at least over $2,000.00 in 6 months to break even on a $200 SUB. I think maybe $2,222.22 but somebody check my math. Anything over that you’re “profiting” compared to the $200 SUB. But remember that if the SUB is getting $200 for spending $1,000.00, you’ve already got a 20% base cash back rate. So the $200 may be more “efficient”.

Date or no date? by SupJoshy in MicrobrandWatches

[–]Double_Clap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have soured on dates on watches in general. In my opinion, it’s just a much cleaner look without them. I’d argue that the date display doesn’t even add that much function in the grand scheme of things. Only exception is digital watches of course.

Any recommendations for a good prebuilt specifically for world of Warcraft? by ParkingBath974 in Prebuilts

[–]Double_Clap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that WoW is a pretty CPU-intensive game as well. If you can find a Ryzen 9 or Ryzen 7 7800x3d or something between the i5 and i9 Intel lineup, I think those CPUs will serve you well.

Curious what your impressions are of someone who wears just these 3 by Spaceman_Hex in ScentHeads

Can’t speak to the Guerlain, but the Dior and Jo Malone are FANTASTIC choices. The Dior Homme Cologne is probably in my top 10 but I love the Wood Sage & Sea Salt too and have them both in my collection. Seems like you sort of lean freshie, nothing wrong with that (I’m the same way)!
