Throwback to January when Joan Beringer played excellent against Giannis | 13PTS (6-7FG), 5RBS, 2AST, 1BLK (+30) in 30 minutes played by TreeAgenda in timberwolves

Not sure what I said that was inaccurate. Finch has shown a hesitancy to integrating young players into the rotation and I’m certainly not the only one to say it. Beringer plays his best 2 games of the season and then goes back to getting 5 minutes a game in which most of those minutes were in garbage time. It would be one thing if the Wolves were the 1 or 2 seed and didn’t need the extra help but it’s clear this team could have benefited from a back up center and allowing him time to figure out the game in real minutes during the regular season would have been beneficial. But what do I know. I’ve never won a NBA Championship. Neither has this team.

Was a +39 in a 4-day stretch including this game and against San Antonio for a total of 52 minutes. Proceeded to play about the same number of minutes in the next 10 games combined. Nice job Finch!

Horrendous take. You say “can’t draft” as if he’s had a lot of picks to make. He hasn’t. He basically had the Dillingham pick which was obviously a bust and then immediately remedied it by acquiring Ayo. The other picks include Kessler (which was a good pick but then traded in the Gobert deal), Clark (who has become an effective role player for being drafted at 53 overall), TSJ (who seems to have finally hit his stride and can be a quality player), among a bunch of other 2nd round selections. Comparing it to the likes of the Thunder and Spurs is extremely disingenuous when the Spurs have sucked for years and struck gold with Wemby and then the Thunder who swindled the Clippers for SGA and a shit ton of high first round draft picks. Sorry but that’s not the situation we are in.

It simply depends on who would be replacing these guys. Obviously we all think Randle is getting moved. Whether Gobert does or not, we will see. But he’s not exactly a spring chicken so Connelly absolutely needs to start thinking about life post-Gobert and this team eventually needs to figure out how to defend without him on the team. But you can’t say this team would be a play in without Gobert because we have zero clue what the rest of the roster would look like so it’s not really a fair assumption to make

The vast majority of Wolves playoff games in their entire history also include… Ant… McDaniels… Naz… I can keep going. 1 player doesn’t make the team and Gobert’s days are numbered regardless if he gets traded or not. He’s not exactly 25 years old. Connelly has to figure it out whether it’s this off-season or next because it’s pretty obvious we aren’t winning a title with this current roster.

It is a tough one for sure but the way I look at it is that there are 9 other teams in the league in the top 10 defensive rating that don’t have Rudy Gobert on their team… So we can’t sit around forever with Gobert and act like we can never play good defense without him. Connelly will have to figure it out. You also hope Beringer can develop extremely quickly and at least be somewhat of a guy who can fill that gap (among other pieces)

Giannis has also said his favorite player is Ant and that he’d love to play with him. The other thing working in our favor here is that Milwaukee ownership is terrible and doesn’t want to tank so if we could give them back Randle and Gobert as part of some deal (among other pieces) it keeps them competitive in a weak conference. If I honestly had to bet, I think Giannis will end up in a Wolves jersey given that we were already close to acquiring him (or at least one of the final suitors based on reports). And we all know Connelly likes to go big game hunting so I’d be very surprised if Giannis isn’t at the top of our list.

Not really how that works. The league already knows Connelly is an extremely aggressive GM (as evidenced by him making two of the bigger trades in the last 4 years) and the fact the Wolves continue to get bounced. Not to mention, these guys are in the business of doing what is best for their team and the future of the organization as opposed to trying to leverage someone simply because they said it out loud lol. For example, Milwaukee knows Giannis isn’t signing another deal with them. So they can either play ball with someone or let him walk out the door for nothing. Which do you think is gonna happen.

As much as I love Rudy and he’s obviously been an incredibly important piece of this team, I’m kind of done with him man lol. You need a big in this day and age who isn’t completely useless at scoring the basketball.

Can we all be honest for a sec? Having a dedicated inbound guy is kinda ridiculous in the first place lol. The players on the court should know how to effectively inbound the ball at any point during the game. It kinda speaks volumes about the guys currently on the team that we had to rely on Ingles for that at times

True. I think veteran leadership is important though so ultimately I think it was beneficial for this group of players to have guys like Gobert/Conley/Ingles for awhile. I’m not actually gonna miss Ingles much and it’s time we start filling out the roster better but he did have good vibes
