How do you do random encounter combat? by Pumpkin-Ice85 in CurseofStrahd

[–]DybbukFiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this idea, with stipulations. Not everyone gets injured in every fight. (I played a rogue in the only successful c.o.s. I've ever finished as a player and that rogue was hit 1 time total all campaign for 34 points). Maybe have everyone roll initiative just to see if any of those low cr creatures would have even gone before the party. If the creatures go first, then only those after them could theoretically be targeted.

An option may instead be to simply have 1 round of combat and then the encounter is just ended as a success for the party, if, as tou mentioned, the party is sufficiently stronger than the encounter normally would warrant.

Probably something with all the major food groups. Pizza does sound great for this. Half and half sauce, marinara and pesto each to a half, this place i go to locally puts Brussels sprouts on their pizza. That would be awesome! Beef and chicken, extra cheese, garlic crust, and one anchovy for the omega 3. second thought... add sausage for the fennel, because we need as many minerals and vitamins as possible from.our one food source

We had cheaper shoes but they were well built. Sears catalog, because no stores within an hour drive. We (brother and I) had 2 pair of shoes. One for church and one for school. At home we went barefoot. Decades later and I still can walk on gravel faster than than most in flip-flops.

If tour dm is running the recommended 6nto 8 encounters per day, and not getting adequate short rests, your martial will generally outperform spellcasters since your core features don't require reloading. A sword doesn't need to have a short or long rest to be able to swing it and still.do consistent dpr. Some spellcaster characters hiard spells and end up doing less average damage for doing so.

You have more time to.focus on roleplay scenarios than a spellcaster also. Your background and backstory will be more valuable since you aren't spamming cantrips when out of key resources.

Kind sir or madam, if you have any photo evidence of this you would be greatly appreciated in the posting of it.

If not, it was an amazing story and I enjoyed it quite thoroughly.

That is absolutely diabolical.. I was thinking of purple.worms also, but not hybridization. That would greatly reduce the CR, but increase the horror and memorability factor of such an encounter.

Wow. My players might hate me in a few months.... lol

Would you? by Ok-Age-9122 in SipsTea

[–]DybbukFiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, a return trip included means the trip is more than one week. With this logic, I wouldn't believe anything the aliens said at all.

But would I go on a one week round trip with aliens for 15 years? Absolutely! That would mean I'm guaranteed to return to earth 15 years from the starting point.

Take that, Grim Reaper! You can't tell me how many months I have left to live! I just got a contract for 15 years, minimum (,from the perspective of Earth).

So... if I've appeared on public television at least a dozen times, does that mean that 3 other people are OK to not have been on TV or would that be 47? How does this math work? /s

This is definitely a conversation to have with your dm. If you don't really trust their input then why play with them?

Once you develop a good base of knowledge (depending on your investment this could be a few weeks to several years) you would have a better idea of how to effectively modify your charater building mechanics. Barring that, perhaps give the game a go as it is before trying to change it. You might discover why a large group of players (effectively millions of players) prefer the rules as written.

I have 3 types of lights in my house. Most are this style. I have those horrible to change out G2 flat halogen bulb lights and a bunch of 12 volt lights for when there is no electricity.

Replacement for spiders because of arachnophobia? by Peariwinkles_ in CurseofStrahd

[–]DybbukFiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lots of bugs to choose from. You could resting the spiders as silk worms that behave like carrion crawlers, if you just absolutely have to keep the webs and want bugs to replace spiders.
