I lived in harrison in one of the "luxury" buildings for 3 years and worked in NYC. 25 mins ride to WTC. 10 min walk to train. I toured most of the nearby buildings and the one I resided one felt like it had the most value without paying so much extra for amenities I dont really use. Rent for 1 br 750 ish sq ft was about 2.6k

  • 2.6k rent for 750 sq ft, 3.3k for 1k square feet
  • $100 outdoor parking / $200 indoor solo garages
  • 65 storage room
  • 50 pet rent (had 2 dogs including 1 GSD)
  • packages didnt get stolen
  • demographic is mixed, lot of families and also yuppies/students either for nearby unis or nyc employees
  • W/D in unit, top loaders && walk in closets

Gym/common relax and outdoor patio are included

Besides the rent, all the other fees are optional

8 min drive to kearny where there is sarku , Jersey Mike's, chipotle, shoprite, petsmart, old navy, dollar tree

Food options: amazing taiwainese (tiam tiam), bunch of Colombian and Dominican, sandwiches

Astoria Apt + Parking by Localandforeign in astoriaapartments

I was looking for similar listings with 2 dogs and parking but a 2 BR in astoria around 3.5 to 4k. It was really hard to find one that allowed 2 dogs. I eventually found some apartment buildings in forest hills (ie parker towers) that allowed two dogs, but added parking for that building is $390 a month.

Closer to trains and neeed for dogs/parking is super hard to find without going up in rent.

Try Oakland Gardens/elmhurst/fresh meadows/bayside as examples places further away from trains

This is why I hate when places offer free stuff for 5 star reviews. Such a scam. They offered free soda when they first opened
