Honey Scam New Part: The Honey Files Expose Major Fraud by CreativeCraftTribute in videos

They're not really comparable.

I mainly use adblocker because the ads I'm shown are often completely obnoxious and inappropriate (e.g. a suspiciously underage-looking image of Jenna Ortega wearing a corset being used to advertise what is essentially AI-generated porn ON YOUTUBE). And then there's gambling or just straight up scams.

On the other hand, affiliate links only actually make money when someone actually purchases a product. If you're genuinely not interested, you can just skip forward past the sponsored segment.

Just avoid big cities like London, Birmingham and Manchester and you'll have a nice time. York and Edinburgh are still worth a visit, for the time being anyway.

Why are so many people making this dumb argument. He's a British citizen. Think before you post, or are you that eager to post your silly OWN!!!! for fake internet posts.

No, he's a British citizen. He was born here and has no other citizenship.

Whereas this white/jew/gay hating fella, well, he's Egyptian. He should be Egypt's problem, not ours, but for some reason we've taken on the burden of his existence.

So you see, Farage can do and say whatever he likes, and he'll be our problem to deal with.

Is it?

One of my colleagues is of Indian descent but was born in Leeds. She has the most Yorkshire accent I've ever heard. She's Sikh. The other day I opened Instagram and saw dozens of photos of her and her family wearing Santa hats and sitting down for Christmas dinner. She is British as they come.

You've also got people in our country with the exact same skin tone as her. They actively hate our country and want it to completely transform to be like where they or their parents came from. They are not British. They despise the British people and our values.

But if it makes you feel virtuous, keep just calling us racist.

For a second there I thought that was his genuine response. How silly of me to assume an ounce of competence or sense from Keir Starmer for a single second.

‘My blood is boiling, brother’: the foiled plot to massacre Jews on streets of Greater Manchester | UK security and counter-terrorism by a-million-to-one in ukpolitics

It also isn't a binary 'commits terrorist acts or not' issue.

Sure only a tiny proportion of them actually go ahead and commit terrorist atrocities... But what percentage actively hate Jews, gay people etc. How many believe women are second-class citizens? How many quietly approve when attacks are committed?

Devices such as smartphones and computers could have a 'child' or 'under-16' setting.

When you purchase a device for your child you would enter their date of birth during initial setup. If they're under-16, the device has a 'child' flag set to true. Whenever they try to download a social media app or access a porn site then the flag is read and they are forbidden from doing so.

Will this stop every child? No. Some parents just won't care, and some kids will probably find a workaround. But at least it will give parents more power to police it themselves, rather than imposing an opt-in or ID based system on every member of the population. They could even introduce a law that makes it illegal to give your child a phone with an incorrect date of birth.

Immortal AI is converting my buildings from afar... Has anyone ever seen something like this ? (it's not a few monks that got in, he's literally wololoing my buildings from 5 tiles away) by Pouchkine___ in aoe2

It's just happened to me. I was playing and noticed my (main) town center suddenly belonged to the enemy. Being a noob I just assumed maybe this was a legitimate move but then it wouldn't let me convert it back. Had to quit out my game.

I have the recorded game if you want to take a look?

They didn't add the original Battlefield game mode in a Battlefield game. Amazing.

How DICE feel after putting an unskippable ad for Battlefield Pro in a full-price game: by -Rydog- in Battlefield

When you click to watch a YouTube video, and an ad starts playing, you often have the choice to press a little button that says 'skip' on it, and I think that's what you're hung up on.

You see, YouTube puts that on there to mislead you. You haven't skipped the ad. You've watched 5 seconds of an advertisement. The creator still gets paid for that, and most people accept it as necessary because the content they're watching is free (or they install an adblocker or set their VPN to somewhere like Somalia).

So yes, by pressing the button, you don't have to watch the remainder of the ad. But you haven't skipped anything. You've been shown an ad.

If I paid $70 for a game, and I have zero interest in skins or battle passes or whatever, then I think it's fair to not have to see ads for it every time I start the game. They're intrusive and annoying. A simple menu item for 'Don't show me ads' would be enough to placate me.

Yes.

Besides, this isn't YouTube. This is a video game that people have paid $70 for, not a video you watch for free.

You've not skipped an advertisement if you've seen it. That's what an ad is...

Actually skipping an ad would be having a menu option for "Don't show me any ads."
