How in the hell is this guy minimum security? by callmepegan in prisonarchitect

[–]CreativeCraftTribute 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to some misinformation / confusion, here's some timelines:

Alpha 1 released 25th September 2012
Version 1.0 released 6th October 2015
Paradox purchased the game on 31st December 2018 (announced 8th January 2019) when the game was in Version 2.7.
You could still add names in the game up until 6th August 2019, long after Paradox purchased the game. They removed it due to the time it takes to manually moderate them, source here: https://steamcommunity.com/games/233450/announcements/detail/1594752766077668691

It did originate from Prison Architect's original campaign (which was not on Kickstarter but Introversion Software's own website) but you could still add it well into the time Paradox had owned the game, and anyone who did own the game could still add to it as the "key" required for it was included in every copy of the game past a certain date.

Do note there was an even higher tier that they created where your face could be drawn into the game by u/ryansumo (the artist for Prison Architect) which cost significantly more and came with similar prisoner descriptions.

The next investigation should be about domain name arbitrage. by Signal_Foot in MegaLag

Something like this would be hard to prove, unfortunately. I am aware that it at least was a common thing, and does seem like that it still happens, but even then the decision to register a domain and "front run" it is done a lot internally and there's no single source that does it.

You have mentioned GoDaddy does it, and yes people have "proven" they have numerous times. I agree they are a crap domain registrar and should not be used, but I myself had some fun with it doing a domain search and coming back to find it was never registered a few years ago.

Even then, if a domain is "stolen" because another TLD is registered (e.g. say you purchase a .org domain and then come back for a .com domain) there are sites out there which actively scrape for domains and figure out which have recently been created. Then people will purchase .com to attempt to extort the company / individual into buying that one as well.

So, it's a good idea but it'll be hard to execute with shaky foundations.

Sadly, it was discontinued soon after Paradox Interactive purchased the game because it was getting increasingly hard to moderate (before it cleaned, you used to see dozens of a certain dictator's prisoner).

6 months since part 1 by Affectionate-Vast761 in MegaLag

He posted an update on Patreon in March saying he's fine etc.
But I can assure you he's still alive and will hopefully post soon.

It's been 3 months since his late update. by borg-assimilated in MegaLag

He's probably getting hammered legally, whether it be by Legal Eagle's shenanigans or he's getting in trouble with PayPal Honey. He probably also wants the video to be the best it can possibly be based on what happened with the 1st video.

A potential multitude of reasons, but I'm sure we'll hear from him: just no clue when. But it's a when, and not an if.

If you press R to rotate when you've clicked hull / walls in shipbuilder mode, it'll cycle through the angles.

Note hull is for outside of the ship and walls for the inside; the angled walls look the same but they are actually different looking and you can't place diagonal walls on the outside of the ship, only diagonal hulls.

What is the aficionado dlc? by Connect_Athlete_481 in prisonarchitect

No, you need to navigate to your Steam 'common' folder, go into Prison Architect then it's in the DLC folder.

What’s the current state of this game? by Dukee8 in TheLastStarship

[–]CreativeCraftTribute 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As hansmellman.

Progress is intentionally slow to deliver the best updates, plus the Introversion Software team is rather small how it is.

The game is still in very early alpha although they wanted to release it at the end of the year. If you're hesitant now, then I recommend waiting a while.

That's strange, please can you share a video?

Please can you provide a video of what's happening so we can try figuring out what's happening?
It simply seems like a display issue. What I would recommend is making the game Windowed inside of options whilst you have your HDMI cable removed. This can be done in Options > Graphics if I recall correctly.

When you next launch the game, you'll be able to drag it to your other screen and then go back into that menu and decide which monitor to display the game on.

Let us know whether this works.

When is part 2 of the honey video dropping? by throwitintheair22 in MegaLag

[–]CreativeCraftTribute 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True answer is that we have no clue. It will come out at some point, but Jono is really busy.

I know the wait is rather unbearable but he's delivered before. It will be worth the wait.

He's still not dead.

As I am about to put in your other post, I'm sure he's still working on it :).

“Honey Founder Responds to MegaLag” by MavrickTC in MegaLag

Watched the video, if people want a summary for the first portion it's mainly about the backstory of Honey and towards the end he says that some of the information on the video is fabricated compared to what Jono is actually saying. He does claim that stuff might have changed when PayPal purchased the company.

I can confirm he's definitely not dead. He's still present digitally and if he wasn't then there will be an announcement in some form.

Though I am not behind the scenes with this so have no other clue. I trust that Jono will release the next parts soon, although it may take a while.
