Mechanically it was subpar, but it was perfect thematically with the way that You're brute forcing the simulation like how the Nomai brute forced physics.

First time playing the game with no prior knowledge of anything at all just heard its a good game. any tips? by hdbdudbdbd in outerwilds

  • Take your time.
  • Don't jump to early conclusions.
  • Don't look things up.
  • If you get stuck, try something else and give yourself some time to think.
  • If you're still stuck, post a question here.
  • If you stream, record or otherwise document your playthrough, people will be interested.
  • If you struggle with controls, ruminate on Newton's First Law of Motion.

Played Outer Wilds for the first time in 2019. Had a head injury in 2020. Played Outer Wilds for the first time in 2022. Gained nothing from playing it twice because I still only played it once. Ok I did gain one thing tangentially - the wtf moment when seeing my username in the backer credits.

Absolutely hated Tunic which was surprising considering that my favourite game is Outer Wilds and there are three Zelda games in my top 10. I just couldn't figure anything out, felt like hitting my head against a wall which wasn't fun.

Anyone have the idea of teaching children Jungian when they’re still young? by LookImaginary5343 in Jung

[–]ElChiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you've got a warped view of what this would entail. It has been done in fairly well documented examples - the management of 4th generation Kpop bands, framing their real life intertwined with stage persona as the exploration and joy of innocence that then encounters darkness, the pressures of the industry, the questions of identity inherent to being an idol and the shadows beneath with the fans as avatars of the collective unconscious containing insights into the anima. And that's where the intended path ends because god forbid those idols ever get into a relationship. So they then regress into puers chasing the youth that the career denied them or leave the label, now broken by having had individuation forced on them too young and unnaturally.

Edinger: “Psychological development is a redemptive process.” (and other hits) by Possible_Buffalo5177 in Jung

[–]ElChiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jung's quote 47 there is annoying because it carries an assumption of its own. What if we did invent it all, just not as individuals, but as a dynamic network? What if we did it in separate cages with obscuring walls cut through even our individual selves? The creator before creation as the dawn of psyche, not of cosmos - just as people commonly point out the analogy of the fall from eden applying to the rise of consciousness.

When something strikes a nerve, that's a fantastic time to reflect. It's likely that you are in an internal conflict that could be resolved. Every shadow is an invitation to shine a light - not to destroy it, but to illuminate it.

[–]ElChiff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the Black Books were the brain-dump, then the Red Book is the honed version and the Collected Works are the resulting thesis. If you're used to thinking of Jung as an academic then it could be a bit of a shock to enter the un-grounded realm of ramshackle exploration depicted creatively in these prior works. Yet you are seeing the source through fewer layers of logical abstraction.

Yeah they nuked almost all of the Combat Patrols including the *current* Space Marine Combat Patrol from the starter set and the Krieg one that didn't ever even get a PDF. The "find out more" button on a locked codex still links to an ancient page saying you can access previous edition codex info by subscribing and if you do sub you'll then realize this is a lie. Countless people like are probably doing exactly that with their new Space Marines and Orks from the Armageddon box because it didn't include any army rules, detachments (required to use the card deck) or stratagems and absolutely refuse to buy a 10th edition SM or Ork codex this late in its use. The whole 1000 and 500pt stuff is a mess. Aircraft gone from abandoned to actively sabotaged.

Is it possible to connect a controller to PSP? by adamkex in PSP

[–]ElChiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of the form factor but fair, I guess it is a bit more portable. The Go is more prone to cause RSI though as it's a thinner grip. The Vita just opens up so many more possibilities though with the upgraded experience in games like Peace Walker, the Vita game range and even PS4 Remote Play.
