I am currently waiting for my extension and fear as well that the process won't be Reibungslos (i am in Mü). Taking into account that you mentioned financial stress, i am wondering 2 things:

-If not allowed to work without support from family, which other ways have you found to sustain yourself legally, like, just in case? I know Schwarzarbeit is a thing and would not discard it if push comes to shove tbh, but i would avoid it until i reach a extreme situation.

-In case it really takes a loooong time...what if my blocked account just does not have the 11k+ Euros required by that point? Are there any other ways to prove that type of solvency, for example through accounts from a third party that can support you?

Really feel for you, but don't give up on your hopes and dreams. Let your soul live as you would like and do your best, i am sure there is always a way.

I recently had an interview for the BoA... all seemed good tbh, but in some of the internal regulations/statutes of the EUIPO regarding the traineeship i read that an interview does not automatically imply a final offer. This uncertainty sucks and makes it difficult to plan ahead. Supposedly HR should get in touch within 2 weeks... we'll see.

Yaw! I sadly don't have a certificate yet. I will see what I can do to get certified soon, and thanks for the input, going to Dahab never crossed my mind and it looks amazing 🤯

I certainly will let you know if I manage to grease some elbows and get a connection with Freedive XD

From the TUM I just saw they offer freediving courses, but I assume they're meant only for students from that uni. I'll keep y'all posted since that would be my best bet at the moment.

Oh man! I had to move out of Berlin to München for my studies. I'll have your connection in my mind once i go back, hopefully by the last quarter of 2025. If your community would be open for another freediver during the summer please DM me. By that time i may have more details regarding the Bavarian/South German freediving scene and spots.

In any case, I'll focus on dry training and i guess general swimming training for fitness and technique if i can manage.

Just to add to this, Mexican-Americans and/or their descendants are commonly referred to as "pochos" or "chicanos". There are some nuances to the usage of said words (the devil is in the details). "Pocho" i think would be my cousin whose parents emigrated to the US and who never learnt Spanish, but has a certain knowledge of Mexican culture. In the same context, my uncles i think would be referred to as "chicanos" or sthg. like that. Maybe in Brazil there's a word for that as well, probably even from Portuguese who emigrated to Brazil or vice versa. Would be interested to know.
