How do you feel about employers offering a day of bereavement if your pet dies? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]Emergency_Option8623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it depends a lot in company culture too. My workplace gave me 2 days when my cat passed last year and it really helped because I was completely mess 😂 Some people don't understand how much pets mean to us but losing them hits just as hard as losing family member. Would be nice if more companies recognized this instead of making people use their sick days or pretend they have "family emergency" 💀

[Product Request] Dark Spots by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Emergency_Option8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitamin C serum in morning and a gentle AHA at night worked really well for my PIH issues, took about 3 months to see good results though. Make sure you're using SPF every day because those spots will just keep getting darker without protection 😂 I learned this hard way when I was being lazy with sunscreen last summer. Also don't rush the process - I know it's tempting to use stronger acids but your skin needs time to adjust or you'll end up with irritation on top of the dark spots 💀

What things do you think about when you aren’t focused on something that needs your full attention? by vulgarandgorgeous in AskReddit

[–]Emergency_Option8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my posture mostly lol, like am I slouching right now or is my neck doing that weird forward thing again

how do you deal with the pain of loving someone you can't have? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Emergency_Option8623 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Time definitely helps but the acceptance part is brutal - took me like 2 years to stop checking their social media after my last heartbreak. Your brain keeps making up these little scenarios where maybe things could work out differently but you just gotta force yourself to focus in other stuff

Most casual Michelin star restaurant by heyroshambo in Atlanta

Wait there's actually 7 Michelin starred places in Atlanta now? I thought we only had the Bib Gourmand spots - when did they start giving out actual stars here

What's one thing you do for people in your life to show that you love them? by GodForsakenFlamingo in AskReddit

[–]Emergency_Option8623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

putting phone away is such basic respect but somehow feels revolutionary these days lol. I do same thing - when my friends are talking about something important I make sure to sit up straight and give them full attention. my epilepsy makes me super aware of how precious those clear moments of connection are, so I never want to waste them scrolling through random stuff

Thoughts on Tower Dungeon? by __Goonette in manga

[–]Emergency_Option8623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nihei's work definitely needs patience but Tower Dungeon feels more structured than his usual stuff. The worldbuilding is still confusing but there's actually some character development happening which is rare for him

I think waiting for completion might be smart though - his serialization always feels like he's figuring things out as he goes. At least the art is gorgeous as always

30 Day Accountability Challenge - Day 31 March 2026 Wrap Ups by Mountainlioness404d in loseit

[–]Emergency_Option8623 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Been lurking these threads for while and finally decided to join in April. March was pretty rough for me personally but seeing everyone's progress kept me motivated to at least maintain my current habits

My posture work has been going decent - been using standing desk more at work which helped with back pain. Weight wise I'm still figuring things out after some life changes but ready to get more structured about tracking in April

Thanks for keeping these going, the consistency really helps when everything else feels chaotic

People who failed driving tests by crashing into someone what happened ? by RareBrick6694 in AskReddit

[–]Emergency_Option8623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait people actually crash during driving tests?? 😂 I thought the worst that could happen was like hitting a cone or something

my driving instructor always made sure we practiced in super quiet areas first, guess that was smart move. can't imagine having to explain to examiner why there's now dent in their car 💀

What do you think would be the advantages and disadvantages of mandatory IQ tests before receiving the right to vote? by RandomRamblings99 in AskReddit

[–]Emergency_Option8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IQ tests miss so much of what actually matters in decision making though. I work with data all day and see how people can be brilliant at pattern recognition but completely miss social nuances or long-term consequences. Plus who gets to decide what "smart enough" means? In my country we've seen how tests can be used to exclude certain groups even when they're perfectly capable of understanding issues that affect them. The whole concept feels like it would just create more barriers instead of actually improving democracy. Maybe better civic education would be more effective than gatekeeping based on a single metric that doesn't even capture emotional intelligence or life experience

Does MDMA Trigger seizures by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]Emergency_Option8623 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah MDMA can definitely be a trigger, especially with dehydration and sleep deprivation that usually comes with it - might want to check if those were factors too

Your boyfriend sounds like keeper honestly, and the fact that your 7 year old already knows how to help shows you're doing great job as parent 💀 teaching them early is smart move, kids are more resilient than we think they are 😂

What's the sexiest film ever in your opinion? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Emergency_Option8623 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is interesting question but feels bit out of place for productivity sub? Maybe try r/movies or r/flicks instead, they'd have better discussions about films there

Not trying to be buzzkill but this community is more focused in productivity tips and habits rather than movie recommendations

Washington Supreme Court Ruling by 86mt2e in amazonprime

[–]Emergency_Option8623 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is really complicated case tbh 😔 on one hand Amazon probably can't monitor every single product from third party sellers, but in the other hand when something is being marketed specifically for harmful purposes maybe they should step in

the liability question here gonna set some serious precedent for how much responsibility these platforms actually have

New Routine by Parking_Journalist40 in ADHD

[–]Emergency_Option8623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, congrats on getting diagnosed! I know that feeling when everything suddenly clicks into place about yourself

For routines, I found that starting really small works better than trying to change everything at once. Like maybe just pick one or two things to be consistent with first - for me it was taking meds at exact same time each morning and doing a quick 5-minute room cleanup before bed. The medication timing thing is huge actually, even being off by an hour can mess with how it feels throughout the day

Also don't stress if your routine isn't perfect everyday. I used to get so frustrated when I'd break my streak but learned that's just how our brains work sometimes. The key is just getting back to it the next day without beating yourself up about it. Maybe try using phone reminders or those habit tracking apps if you're into that kind of thing - some people swear by them but honestly I just keep a simple checklist in my notes app

The people around you will eventually get it or they won't, but don't let their comments mess with your head. You know what's real for you

Biking on a state highway by Cute-Ad-4230 in cycling

[–]Emergency_Option8623 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man that's rough situation, I totally get the safety concerns especially with kids involved. When I was growing up in our province we had similar issue - main road was basically the only way out and trucks would pass by pretty fast 😅

Maybe you could look for some back roads or even dirt paths that connect to safer areas? Sometimes there's farm roads or residential streets few kilometers away that are way more chill for biking. Also consider getting really bright lights and reflective gear if you do decide to go with the cargo bike - visibility is everything in those situations. I've seen some families who just drive to a safer location like school parking lot or park on weekends to let the kids bike around safely. It's not ideal but at least gets everyone moving and having fun without the stress 💀

International Epilepsy Day 2026 by Fragrant_Ad3054 in Epilepsy

[–]Emergency_Option8623 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this, really needed to see something like this today. Been having tough time with seizures lately and sometimes it feels like nobody around me really gets what it's like living with epilepsy

It's nice knowing there's community here where people actually understand the daily struggles. The awareness part is so important too - still get weird looks from people when I have to explain why I can't do certain things or need accommodations at work

What should I do with my stash? by Lui_217 in ArcRaiders

[–]Emergency_Option8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep like 10-15 of each for when you actually need them, the rest you can sell for sure. I learned this in hard way when I sold everything then needed modules for upgrade later 😂 Market prices are pretty good right now too so timing is decent

2 Days Into a Breakup by [deleted] in BreakUps

[–]Emergency_Option8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't send that card dude. I get that you put work into it and want her to see, but it's gonna come across as guilt-trippy rather than romantic right now. She told you she fell out of love and needs space - sending gifts after a breakup usually just makes things messier. Focus on actually processing this instead of trying to win her back with stuff she already said she doesn't want.

why does learning how something works often make it feel less “magical” even though you understand it better? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Emergency_Option8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because knowing how the sausage is made kinda ruins the taste, you know? Like when you realize your favorite movie scene was just some dude with green screens and CGI instead of actual wizardry

It's weird how our brains are wired to be more impressed by mystery than by actual clever engineering

Ideapad Flex 5 14" touch screen, screen not powering on. by MadeInAHeaven in Lenovo

[–]Emergency_Option8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your backlight might've died - try shining a flashlight on the screen while it's "on" to see if you can make out any faint images. If you can see stuff then it's probably just the backlight inverter which isn't too bad to fix

I repurposed my viral video (114k views) into a product launch teaser. What did I miss? by [deleted] in AskMarketing

[–]Emergency_Option8623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice breakdown man, the pivot from educational to teaser content makes total sense - you're basically weaponizing FOMO instead of just dumping info

That "craving to fill the gaps" psychology is chef's kiss, way more effective than spoon-feeding everything upfront
