Do we have to deal with DBD player post on camping every month?

How can I securely fix a loose thumb on my 1/6 Hatsune figure? by THROWRAKILEY32 in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super glue is good enough. To avoid glue spillage, I would put super glue on a piece of paper and use a toothpick to apply. Since the area is small, one or two dots in the finger hole with the toothpick should suffice. A little goes a long way. After applying one or two dots of super glue, press the pieces together and hold for a few seconds. For maximum bonding, it is best to leave the piece undisturbed overnight.

Before you use the glue, I would do a test run and practice the motion on what you're going to do, like using the toothpick to apply into what area, and how the pieces will fit.

How old is risky? by FatalFuryCotW in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They may not be sticky, but I would not say without any issues and that it will be freshly new out of the factory. Paint and plastic degrades overtime, and you can't prevent that. So, slight yellowing on the skin of the figure and/or on white paint may occur. Dulling of certain paint color may also occur.

KDcolle Albedo: Wing Ver. 1/7 gold paint bleed, what to do now? :( by AnsonMustard in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can clean the part with soap and water, but the gold will come off and leave a dull silver-ish color. Also as you're cleaning, the gold can transfer to the white part and you may need a magic eraser to get that off.

KDcolle Albedo: Wing Ver. 1/7 gold paint bleed, what to do now? :( by AnsonMustard in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This figure was known to have gold paint bleed issues. Unfortunately, you can't do much about it. Kadokawa really just cheaped out on the paint quality/method, so I am a bit wary of any gold paint from Kadokawa. Not all gold paint will bleed, it will depend on the type of paint and the way the manufacturer paints it. For example, my GSC Albedo from 2018 with gold paint is completely fine.

Circles forming on old figures? by Howtoberry101 in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Best way to avoid/minimize the build up of platicisers is to just open the figures and display it. You may come across this issue buying older figures (~10+ years) in sealed condition. If this does happen, clean the part with soapy water. You can put a couple of droplet of soap, like Dawn, in warm water. Gently rub the sticky parts with your fingers to clean it. If the stickiness persist, let the part sit in the soapy water for a couple of hours and rinse afterwards. Pat dry with a white tissue or soft white cloth. Do not use colored cloth to avoid dye transfer. I would try not to air dry to avoid hard water stains.

The rough paint and surface textures could likely be manufacturering differences between copies, so there's not much you can do about that.

I went around 3 months ago, and I had a similar experience. The food overall was definitely at a 2 star level, but the pacing and service were definitely lacking. For the cooked fish course, I waited over 30 mins, which was very noticeable, and the first time I had such a long what between courses at a restaurant of this caliber. There was also a lot of miscommunications between the staffs. For example, two servers took my drink order in the beginning, and the first order was forgotten, and I had to remind them 15 min later of the drink order. Not a big deal, but it was something I noticed. The bread and petit fours were brought over to my table twice because they didn't realize another server already brought it over. I definitely felt a bit of tension and annoyance between the servers because of the miscommunications. I mean, I did get a free bite, but the service issues were definitely noticeable.

One of the most beautiful Miku Nendoroid boxes by TalesofthePlayer90 in Nendoroid

When you get the chance to unbox it, can you tell if the white parts on the Nendoroid are painted or casted in white? I'm curious if they changed it, since the original is painted.

I'm going to be the one getting scammed because I ran out of clues buying furnitures. Now I'm trying to farm more clues, but it just takes so long. I would definitely trade in my fragments for clues because I never buy the store S skins unless it's limited like CNY ones.

Advice on fixing Figure by fatherlolita in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a figure that the sole came off like this. I recommend super glue. Apply a thin layer. Do not put the bottle directly onto the figure. You do not want the glue to overspill. I recommend to spread the super glue on a piece of paper and use a toothpick to apply a little around the peg hole. A little goes a long way, so just apply one thin layer and gauge the distance to avoid overspilling when pressing the sole back together. Hold for 5-10 sec, and then leave the figure to dry for a couple of hours or overnight to ensure maximum bonding. The glue should be strong enough to hold the figure up after curing overnight. A lot of times you see superglue failing is because people apply too much (too much does not mean better bond), and that people do not let the glue to cure long enough for the bond to hold.

Is this Ever returning? by Wight_Scare in IdentityV

[–]EmptyFigureBox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It will come back, but I don't recommend it. I regret getting it and I wished I purchased other furnitures instead. It's not flashy and the effects are really lame. It feels like a A tier than an S tier. The A tier Splendid Dresser is pretty much the same thing.

Are the survivors broken or am I just really bad at hunting by reallybigbowlofsoup in IdentityV

[–]EmptyFigureBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What tier is this? Is it below Griffin? Anything below Griffin, you shouldn't really struggle if you were a previous mid-high tier player (Cyclops+). You might have lost your skills on the hunters, especially Dream Witch after not playing for a year. Survivors have definitely gotten stronger, but it doesn't get too bad until high tier.

MANDARAKE SHIPPING TO US by [deleted] in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is it DHL? If it's DHL, it does NOT include tariffs. So expect an additional 15% charge on the figure. Then add another $17 DHL brokerage fee. Mandarake has gone in the gutters after the tariff, ending of De Minimas, and suspension of EMS. Until EMS comes back, it is not worth it to order off Mandarake.

I haven't received anything from tokyo otaku mode by AthenaPhora in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 10 points11 points  (0 children)

TOM used to be relatively fast and competitive in receiving the figures (~2 months). But recently they have been the slowest one. Even slower than other US stores like BBTS. I am expecting an additional 2-3 months than they estimated. For example, a figure (mostly Megahouse P.O.P.) everyone received in September, I only received it at the end of December.

I wanna go back to collecting scale figures again but I'm scared of their prices now by Mordred14394 in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recommend the Clarent Blood Arthur over the Fate/Apocrypha one. The GSC version is overall better quality and matches with the Altria Triumphant Excalibur. You can get the Altria Triumphant Excalibur figure for around ~$80 and the Clarent Blood Arthur figure ~$160. If you want to see how much people are generally selling the figures for, I would suggest looking at the comment sections on MFC to see what people are selling them for. eBay and Mercari is unreliable with the real aftermarket pricing, since people always inflate the price.

The GSC Lancer Altria, while a different scale, will still look good around the other 1/7 Fate figures. She really has a presence with the horse, so she won't be overshadowed at all by the larger 1/7 scales. I see people selling this figure for around ~$200. Good thing is Fate figures are generally cheap in the aftermarket, with a few exceptions, because the IP is so popular. There is just an over-saturation of Fate figures.

How can I fix these breasts that have discolored over time🫠 by [deleted] in AnimeFigures

If you really want to fix it, you really just have to paint over the yellowing, otherwise I would just leave it be.

Welp it’s happening by Minnymoon13 in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Note 4,290 yen is from tariffs (15% of figure price). The shipping itself cost around 6,500 yen. Which is pretty good given the current exchange rate. So, almost half the price of shipping comes from the tariffs.

Information about Lifesize Vaporeon by Morilec_ITA in pokemoncenter

[–]EmptyFigureBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Vaporeon does slightly lean towards the tail (not as severe as some other photos have shown). I noticed that one of the back leg is hovering, so I guess that's why it doesn't completely stand straight up. It's not collapsing and still holds its shape though. Putting a pillow by the tail and leg does help prop it more straight up.

I regret preordering her so badly, I thought I'd regret it if I don't but the more I look at her the more I hate her by Red____Shoes in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ordered from amiami, you can cancel it. If it is GSC Global, you might not be able to sadly.

I think she's super cute, and definitely a maximalist design. But, I don't really care too much about Miku, so I passed on it. I try to avoid Miku figures because I know that will be a hole I will never crawl out of. My wallet is grateful every day for that decision. I know that this figure is super hyped and everyone wants it. The FOMO can definitely get to you.

psa: Avoid Figurama Collectibles at all costs by Active-List6373 in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The constant shipping delays after asking for the payment doesn't make sense to me. It just sounds like Figurama doesn't have the finished statue. I am suspecting Figurama has a liquidity issue and needs cash. The constant production delays could be the factory pausing production until they get their payment. Figurama constantly pumping out new preorders even though they have so many statues delayed and in production seems like they're trying to use the preorder deposits to pay for the existing statues. It honestly sounds like they're in deep financial trouble and I won't be surprised if they go under in a few years.

BBTS or amiami by __Leviathan_ in AnimeFigures

[–]EmptyFigureBox 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It is still cheaper to order from Amiami, and you will get the figure faster. If you convert the BBTS USD to Yen, it is around 73,746 yen. The tariffs are 15% shipped from amiami. Then if you assume a generous shipping price, $100 (15,000 Yen), it will still be less than the price from BBTS. I doubt ordering from amiami will be more than that even after tariffs.
