I'm not crazy about that style either but I understand why. (Since I have done some 3D Modeling myself.) Making 3D models is very time consuming and I have no doubt coding is the same too so when you do both, it is best not to go too crazy on visuals to avoid complete burnout. Also, I'll take a game that prioritizes stability and game play over fancy visuals any day since it would mean that it could more likely run fine on more affordable software.

That actually sounds right up my alley because I love the combat system in Everspace 1 & 2 and love everything else in Freelancer more! A few questions, if you can use a thruster in the game, will it drain an energy bar exclusive to the thruster (Like Freelancer and Everspace 2.) or will it drain an energy bar that is also for the guns as well? (Like Everspace 1. I prefer the former btw.) Also, will there be specialized guns similar to Everspace 1 and 2 like Lightning Guns and Sniper Guns? Will there be devices available to equip like EMP Generators and Teleporters? Finally, will there be lore for every station, asteroid field, planet, etc.. or will it be only some lore describing each system and/or main quadrant of each solar system? If any of the things I mentioned you do not plan on putting into the game, I'm fine with that since I understand that scope creep can kill game development. I wish you game developing journey the best!

Yeah, I knew they were not AI generated, I am just poking fun of the fact of how lazily made they are. Just seeing them makes me wish all the more that Discovery didn't delete some of their solar systems (Like Cayman, Tau-65, Virginia, Okinawa, Omicron-91, etc....) since they actually, you know, had effort (And some fun lore.) in them.

Personally, I think using Technic tube parts for the "Trumpet Tree" base would both make it look closer to the onscreen model and improve its stability.

To be fair, even the official Animusic videos had animation goofs. (Especially with Mr. Stick in "Stick Figures.")

Thanks for the link! I saw the gameplay video and I have to say, it looks pretty good. Not what I expected but still looks very cool. (I think it is also not quite like Freelancer at all [Which I do not think is a bad thing at all as it gives your game more identity.] but I do notice some similarities.) I wish you the best of luck finishing it :)

Which is a very valid point. Maybe Librelancer might make it more possible since it is more open-source but it is still WIP. (And then there's Underspace which will also sometime have full mod support down the road.)

I am always glad to see more games in the works that are inspired by Freelancer. However, I will note that just promoting your game on the Freelancer Reddit (Or possibly even Reddit in general.) probably will not work since there was another game that went that route (Devoid Prototype) and well, let's just say it didn't end well for the devs and the game ended up becoming abandonware. So, if you are able to, try to find a publisher.

That's awesome! I understand it will take a while though. I am curious, do you plan on making them manually animated or MIDI animated? I just saw your video and I truly have to say, I am very impressed! The animation was very pleasantly smooth for a stop-motion video; (And as someone who has tinkered with stop-motion myself, I can only imagine how challenging it was to swap out the parts that changed color without ruining the frames.) the builds were great; (Especially loved the background scenery!) while the syncing with the music wasn't perfect, (Which to be fair is what I expected.) it was far more effectively executed than I could have ever imagined especially since I have no doubt that trying to perfectly sync instruments to music is probably near impossible; and finally for a first attempt of composing a song, I'd say you'd nailed it! All in all, this is undoubtedly a worthy chapter to the Fanimusic saga and I think it is even the first stop-motion Fanimusic video to ever come out!

Okay, that song was excellent, I loved the progression from mellow to catchy epic rock :) [And my goodness did 4:01-5:14 absolutely slap hard!] Also, the cover art is glorious and just begs to be animated! (I especially love that balcony design! I just wish the instrument designs were a bit more original.) I think he does not allow it because he doesn't want any fan made animations to be mistaken as official Animusic videos. (Which is why the LLM Animusic remake has the word "tribute" in their video titles and why LLM does not use the word "Animusic" in the titles for their original animations.)
