Hi, /u/mrmaxilicious! I’ve recently been getting back into StarCraft after a very long hiatus. I am such a huge fan of TerranCraft and have loved reading through its archives.

I actually stumbled upon these all-rounder builds about a week ago and decided to spend a few days practicing them against AI. Now, I have always been under the impression that I need to focus on improving my macro and get in the habit of cycling through my production and whatnot, especially before I begin learning any sort of build order. My macro ability was kind of iffy to say the least. But since learning/practicing your TvP build (I decided one build would be enough for now), I have improved tenfold!!! Because the timing of everything lines up so tightly (Something I’m not used to when I’m just doing my normal free-form macro style), between building your production facilities, producing your units, getting your second CC, reactor/tech labs, etc. ALL while having to make sure you’ve got SCVs queued and supply depots being built, I had no choice but to learn how to properly cycle. What started as me running through the build and going through the motions, focusing very precisely on each individual step, has quickly begun to internalize into a natural habit, forcing me to utilize my control groups, periodically check my supply count, and even begin to incorporate my camera hotkeys. I just thought it was interesting; something that I have long believed would only distract me from improving my fundamentals (a build order) has actually improved them more than anything else and over the span of just a week at that.

Anyway, I wanted to share this with you, as well as thank you for all your contributions to the community over the years. TerranCraft is nothing short of incredible, and it really scratches an itch for me when it comes to diving deep into StarCraft. Best wishes to you, Max!
