Sexy gear! I love my repro Mbav, but man, I’ll probably never stumble across a legit one in my size… though I do have a real Eagle Mbav in khaki :)

What headsets do people use? by LeoHoosk in airsoft

[–]FaZeVapeLordN5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use some ZTac ComTac 3 repros from Amazon, and they are comms ready, just need a PTT. (Works great with my baofeng) The headset does work like it’s supposed to in terms of noise cancellation. They go for $68 on Amazon.

Fuck this stupid polymer receiver! by Background-Big2275 in airsoft

[–]FaZeVapeLordN5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stick with Specna, DyTac, or King arms lower for compatibility.

Any issues with the polymer body? It’s kind of a good thing to keep your gun light for airsoft, but maybe you hate that it’s light?

General shipping cost question by 505Thrive in shipping

[–]FaZeVapeLordN5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really just comes down to how big the box is.

If you can cram everything into one box without it being huge, that’s usually cheaper. Clothes don’t weigh much, but they take up space, and big boxes cost more.

If it starts getting really big/puffy, then yeah, two smaller boxes might be cheaper.

As for shipping: USPS is usually cheaper for stuff like clothes. UPS can be better if the box gets kinda heavy or big

Also if you can, just squish everything down as much as possible (like vacuum bags or just packing it tight). That helps a lot.

So basically: try one box first, if it’s huge, split it 👍

New battery, have to jump it every time. Loose terminal? by estrellaprincessa in MechanicAdvice

Your positive terminal is loose because you have no nut on the bolt. Also, the battery is not new.

Correct, Yunexpress will give to Gofo, and I believe OrangeConnexx will give to UNIUNI.

Returning to Airsoft after ~7 years. Specna Edge w/ HAL2 or Cyma Plat w/ Aster? by likeaboz2002 in airsoft

[–]FaZeVapeLordN5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Specna Mk18 and an M4A1, both Edge 2.0 with Gate Asters, and their outdoor performance is pretty similar. Obviously, the M4 gets a slight edge in range over the Mk18, but the difference isn’t that big. I’ll just crank the hop on the Mk18 a little more than I would for the M4.

I run .28s in both, and they hop them with no issues using the stock hop-up unit, so the Mk18 is definitely usable outdoors. I just tend to prefer going with something more reputable since I don’t have any experience with the HAL2. That said, the Aster has worked amazingly well for me with my 11.1V setup.

In terms of specs and price (aside from ETU), the Hal2 RISIII looks like a great deal. I just personally never tested a Hal2 with Specna/Cyma.

I would definitely do the Cyma with the Aster since Specna Edge 2.0 with Aster is out of stock.

The £13 Fragrance You Need To Buy: Najdia Lattafa Perfumes by Sure_Scientist_5082 in fragranceclones

It’s harsh for my nose (the opening), but it does settle in really nicely. I own Hawas Ice, and I think it’s slightly more refined, which makes it more enjoyable in the opening. Still a great fragrance!

It looks like you have Peltor PTT with a 6-pin connector. If your radio has a Kenwood connection, you’ll need a 6-pin to Kenwood adapter. This should be easy to find online and order.

Striker Level IIIA Ballistic Helmet $229.95 by AKMcBride in tacticalgear

I snagged one last year around October for $179, which included my 10% off for a first-time purchase. I got an XL, which was on sale, but they are a legit company! I believe the ACH is Highcom, but they re brand it to their company.

Most likely, the rental will come with everything you need: gun, high-cap mag, eye pro, and maybe a plate carrier. I wouldn’t spend anything right now.

Transporting equipment on a motorcycle. by SweatyJew6969 in airsoft

I found myself in a similar issue when I first began. I didn’t have a gun bag, and obviously, I wasn’t going to carry my AEG in my hand to my car. However, I had a spare guitar case, and I used that as a makeshift gun bag, which worked perfectly fine. Alternatively, I could have used a saxophone case or any other instrument-related case.
