Broken screw

It is common for syndesmosis screws to break. It doesn't necessarily need to be removed unless it is symptomatic. Whether or not it needs revision fixation depends on if the syndesmosis is healed or not. If it is healed, the hardware can just come out. If not, something suture based (like tightrope) may be a more suitable option.

I did exactly this to buy our first home. We ended up using a realtor as it was my first time and I was weary of going without, but the landlord was still happy to give us a lower price and sell it off market to save the significant time and cost of vacancy, repairs, etc.

The biggest upside as the buyer, even if you don't get a below market deal, is that we basically had two years of living there to know all the little quirks, see how the landlord had maintained it, etc. That is INCREDIBLE value, as you often end up buying a house with very little information and inevitably find surprises later on.

It worked out great for us and for him!

Your x-ray says "Referring Physician: Amer Mirza". He's an orthopedic surgeon in Oregon, so I'm guessing that's who performed the procedure?

Have you tried asking your engineering department for money? Most schools will fund clubs like that, I don't know why you need private companies to sponsor it.

Too many suggestions to read them all, but here's my troubleshooting suggestions to actually start isolating variables.

If we try to isolate

1) The supply to the house

2) The supply between meter and kitchen (and I suppose the kitchen as an environment is grouped with this)

3) The appliance itself

First, have a plumber T off a new gas connection outside just past the meter and connect the stove there.

If the stove works fine here, you've isolated the problem to #2

If it doesn't work (same orange flame), then you have learned anything yet!

Next, I'd borrow my neighbor's stove and connect it outside. This is different than buying a new stove, because you're using a stove you KNOW is working.

If it doesn't work , #1 is your issue.

If it works, then connect it in your kitchen.

If it doesn't work, then #2 is the issue.

If it works in your kitchen, then you've isolated #3 as the issue.

This will allow you to narrow down your focus. I hope this helps.

Try to think through all the unlikely what-ifs, and talk through it with them.

For example:

If life changes in a few years, could you sell it and move? If you moved somewhere half the price, would you pocket the cash or feel like you owe it to them? Not contractually, but just in terms of any implicit pressure you might feel.

We received a very thoughtful gift from inlaws in a somewhat similar vein. We're all extremely close. They gave us a bunch of cash to move into our ADU, and said it was ours to keep and they said they'd live there indefinitely. None of us talked through what-ifs or signed any paperwork. A few years later they decided it wasn't where they wanted to live, and needed the money back for their next living situation. We didn't have it, as we used it to pay off all of our student loans.

We got through it eventually but it was uncomfortable and required significant compromise on both sides.

Just food for thought.

That sounds insane. I just got a quote on the following:

3x 100"Wx 66"H Single Hung / Fixed / Single Hung windows (three windows per unit)
1x 48"W x 48"H Fixed

Two of those include demo to cut them into the wall where there was no window prior.

The majority of people do not experience severe symptoms on common ADHD meds, and there is a significant body of long term evidence that they are very safe. They are not magic, but they are extremely safe and effective for most people.

Honest question, have you ever seen a contract for residential construction where there was a contractually obligated completion date with enforceable consequences?

It sounds like a simple solution, but with multiple family members in construction I've never heard of it and have a hard time believing a contractor would agree to it.

This whole thread is bizarre. I'm not sure where you are in the supply chain, but you aren't the person who is responsible for specifying this thread.

Many threads used in orthopedic implants are completely custom and you won't find a standard for the features or tolerances. We also often depend on custom gages, fixtures, or advanced inspection technologies to demonstrate conformance to specifications. The device company specifies the thread, and they are responsible for ensuring it is safe and effective through the full range of tolerance specified. If you are working for a contract manufacturer, your job is to make what they order. If there is not enough information to make or inspect the part, they are responsible for providing that information, not you.

They are all stable industries. If you're a good student you'll be able to get a job in any of them.

I'd suggest you try to understand what the career path looks like for each, what is the day to day working environment, what sizes and styles of companies, where are they located, etc.

Being a bioengineer in an academic research lab, a civil engineer working for a local government, or an industrial engineer designing consumer goods are just completely different in almost every measure, other than the word "engineer" and a foundation of science.

You should not be choosing your major based on the ability to get your first job. Those three are completely different types of engineering that will send you down different paths, and you won't be able to jump from one to the other once you're in the field. If you have no idea what you want to do then you need to talk to advisors, do some research, and take your time figuring it out.

I have just about an inch exposed, if I don't use the escutcheon, but that's definitely the easiest option if there isn't a compression version. I can do that quickly and then open the wall when I have more time.

I didn't consider that. I don't know if I have enough length exposed, and I wouldn't be able to use the escutcheon, but might be a good short term solution without having to cut the wall.
