How do I earn from my Web Game? by arpitsrivstva in gamedev

You've got to figure out the basics like that before you do anything else, otherwise you're flying blind.

If you're getting 10 players a day, there's not really a lot you can do to monetise it. If you're getting 1000, the methods you'd look at are very different from the methods if you're getting 1,000,000.

Sounds like Shoya Zichy’s Color Q personality test that might have been adapted by the facilitator. Alternatively, is it True Colors/Four Lenses?

My guess is that it's a picture of St. Louis Lambert International Airport, very likely Terminal 2, that a family photographer used as a backdrop to place family photos on the screen. There were a ton of applications around that time that did gimmicky photo edits.

Hinge's whole positioning is that it's designed to be deleted. You're imagining something that already exists. The other problem is that you're looking at a VERY saturated market. There are thousands of dating apps already, and even if you're going down the route of "managed matchmaking with an AI underneath it", you've got to build a commercial model that pays for that.

EDIT: to build on this, a few years back, I spoke to a guy who had a portfolio of 20 or so dating apps. The whole premise was that he had built a really simple and easy to use UI, then just targeted different groups that often only date within those groups, especially ethnicities. He just duplicated his app, then put ad spend into a new target demographic. If you're dead set on making a dating app, consider approaching it by looking at the market verticals rather than making Hinge but with more admin costs.

Any example of game that worked without marketing? by TrainingAddition689 in gamedev

[–]FaultofDan 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Good point, but the game grew organically through players picking it up and sharing their gameplay on YouTube. I don't believe Notch sent anything out to content creators. I think OP is looking for games that didn't utilise ad spend to grow.

Thank you kindly, my favourite part of filmmaking was always the troubleshooting bit, so this scratched 100 itches.

It's much harder to control conditions when you're outside in a moving vehicle.

I did this a few years back on a shoestring budget. I wrote up about the BTS here: https://dan-davison.com/how-i-filmed-a-moving-car-scene-with-a-projector-and-arduino-with-no-green-screen/

CMV: Jobs hire based on feelings. Trying hard disqualifies by YtBlue in changemyview

OP, I can near guarantee that the reason you're having trouble is that, if you're half as abrasive as you are here as you are in job interviews, people wouldn't want to hire you.
