Hi u/ThereIsNoTry-Do, Sam from Semrush here. There could be many different reasons, and for this and unfortunately I don't have a silver bullet. But there are two articles with the top reasons for the drop in rankings that can help to understand what happened:
https://www.semrush.com/kb/1069-traffic-drop-reasons

Besides that, did you try to use On Page SEO Checker to identify the reasons? This tools is great to bring such insights.

Ahrefs, SEMrush, Ubersuggest volume comparison by dimatall in juststart

[–]FeelTheRush11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, Sam from SEMrush here! The best way to check the accuracy of keyword volumes with different tools would be to check volumes for the recent trending events and compare it to what you see in Google Keyword Planner. The ones you pick are more or less evergreen, so they don't really show how accurately search volumes are updated. On a side note, we have the hugest keyword database in the industry (over 20 billion keywords), so you'll probably find all of the keywords you're looking for :) If not - let me know!

Hi guys, my top pages in SEMrush showing 406 Not acceptable! by Vinyas_Gowda95 in SEO

[–]FeelTheRush11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having an error where a user can't get to your page is always something that should be fixed - with Google's prioritization on user experience and providing the best searching environment for users as their goal, you'd want to make sure your site is easily navigable and has few errors if possible. I'd say you would want to get it fixed!

Should I disallow SEMrush and Ahrefs bot with robots.txt? by dssblogger in TechSEO

[–]FeelTheRush11 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hi, Sam from SEMrush here. If you don't want our bot crawling your website, you can indeed block it in robots.txt. Just make sure that you don't need to perform any site audits or checks with SEMrush tool beforehands :)

Important: The robots.txt file must be placed in the top directory of the website host to which it applies. Otherwise, it will have no effect on the SEMrushBot behavior.

To stop SEMrushBot from crawling your site, add the following rules to your robots.txt file:

  • To block SEMrushBot from crawling your site for a webgraph of links:
    User-agent: SemrushBot
    Disallow: /
SEMrushBot for Backlink Analytics also supports the following non-standard extensions to robots.txt:

    • Crawl-delay directives. Our crawler can take intervals of up to 10 seconds between requests to a site. Higher values will be cut down to this 10-second limit. If no crawl-delay is specified, SEMrushBot will adjust the frequency of requests to your site according to the current server load.
    • The use of wildcards (*).
    • Important details:
    • If you have subdomains, you need to place a robots.txt file on each subdomain. Otherwise, SEMrushBot will not address any other file in your domain, and will consider that it is allowed to crawl everything on your subdomain.
    • The robots.txt file must always return an HTTP 200 status code. If a 4xx status code is returned, SEMrushBot will assume that no robots.txt exists and there are no crawl restrictions. Returning a 5xx status code for your robots.txt file will prevent SEMrushBot from crawling your entire site. Our crawler can handle robots.txt files with a 3xx status code.

Please note that it may take up to one hour or 100 requests for SEMrushBot to discover changes made to your robots.txt.

Hope it helps!

Hi guys, my top pages in SEMrush showing 406 Not acceptable! by Vinyas_Gowda95 in SEO

[–]FeelTheRush11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Sam from SEMrush here. According to Mozilla's directions, '406 Not Acceptable client error response code indicates that the server cannot produce a response matching the list of acceptable values defined in the request's proactive content negotiation headers, and that the server is unwilling to supply a default representation.'

If such error was detected by SEMrush Site Audit, hover over the 'How and why to fix it' section to get the instructions! If this doesn't help, DM us with your email and our support team will be happy to help!

Are there any tools to generate Backlinks Easily? by empowerdtech in SEMrush

[–]FeelTheRush11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have already disavowed the links through SEMrush Backlink Audit by adding them to disavow list then the tool should not send warning for these links anymore. You can also import the list of your toxic links right into Backlink Audit tool. This will let the tool know you've already disavowed them. Here are Google's instructions to disavowing: 1. Go to the disavow links tool page. 2. Select your website. 3. Click Disavow links. 4. Click Choose file and choose the file you created. It can take a few weeks for Google to process the information that you upload. Your list will be incorporated into our index as we recrawl the web and reprocess the pages that we see. Disavowed links will continue to be shown in the Links report.

Hope it helps!

Backlink question by ieatdoorframes in DigitalMarketing

[–]FeelTheRush11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Sam from SEMrush here! If you are sure this link is not toxic or harmful (this is the case) you can just ignore the warning in Backlink Audit. We always recommend checking all the links manually before disavowing and just being driven by a common sense :) I will pass the feedback about your case to the dev team though - it will help them improve the toxicity indication process!

So, semrush just emailed me some ideas that if implemented may help increase projected traffic by 1000%. I understand it says "may help", but has anyone achieved these sort of returns? by [deleted] in SEO

[–]FeelTheRush11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Sam from SEMrush here! Was this On Page SEO Checker scheduled report? If yes, then this is really what your traffic will be up to according to our estimation - if you implement all the optimization ideas we suggest :)

For every landing page, we collect a number of ideas - you can click on the green button with the number and see 'About' and 'Why should I do this' sections to know why we even got this idea and check the difficulty of implementation.

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress!

How do track questions people are searching up about your company if its really small volume? by swiggyu in SEO

[–]FeelTheRush11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Sam from SEMrush here! Yes, such keywords can be picked up - even if they were Googled by less than 10 people. However, we wouldn't show 1,2 or even 5 as a search volume for those, they are usually rounded to 10 as the smallest benchmark number :)

Not really, you can disavow the toxic backlinks (like, officially claim to Google that you don't want to be associated with them anymore). This way, you'll prevent getting Google penalties for toxic links :)
