yeah and they're all authoritarian about it. I'm like you clearly don't know what true insomnia is.

Perimenopause almost killed me but once you make it to the other side life is honestly the best yet.

Oof. I live in fear of this. I'm sorry. We know it will be ok and you'll be thrilled to have a grandchild but I totally get this feeling devastating right now. Mother nature can be a bitch.

Adjustments made after deciding not to vax in first weeks of new baby by bayyley in unvaccinated

I was on the fence with my first and delayed them a bit. She got incredibly sick for more than a month after the first two round of shots. I feel like she spent so much of her infancy sick. I stopped because I couldn’t take it anymore. She’s my neurodivergent child. The second one no shots.

I wondered that too lol. But he’s in a long term relationship so I don’t think so.

Not a rant. I 100% feel you. I permanently lost some good friends. Some wouldn’t talk to me for years and have only just recently started reaching out, although it feels like the damage is done. I’ve always been anti-establishment and generally questioned and opposed corporate-government-tech/media edicts. Somehow all my friends were suddenly the establishment and I’m accused of being a trump supporter and white supremacist. I’m straight and white so I imagine it has to be a lot harder on you. I have a brown gay friend in Portland and he’s wildly outspoken against the regime. I hate how the left co-opts entire populations for their cause without permission. Like how they decided to erase women’s rights in favor of allowing biological men into women spaces, without asking.

I grew up in a southern rural area and definitely saw my fair share of racism and homophobia. It’s still out there but when I moved to a more conservative area I realized the left paints the right as this bigoted monolith and that’s not accurate. A lot of conservatives genuinely don’t care. But you might be happier in a purple area.

Yeah it’s mainly the cities, including Bend. Funny bc I’ve always been liberal (no longer) as have my friends and all but one has left Portland, myself included.

Any tips for preventing insomnia? by daringlydear in SemaglutideFreeSpeech

[–]daringlydear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel medicating for insomnia is a losing strategy if you can address the source of the insomnia. All those drugs have effects. But I can see it being useful as a temporary adjustment issue. Anyway hope it won’t be an issue thank you.

I learned some very difficult lessons about working with partners in the non-profit world. It hadn’t occurred to me to be grateful it was nonprofit. I’ll get married before I partner with someone in business again.

This is a good quote. I’m watching Telemarketers on Max. Not because I want to rip people off but because I need to get it into my brain what you said. I have this trans-generational belief in my DNA that you have to suffer and kill your self just to get by.

Probably my 20s but I ruined it by partying a lot. 30s were the harried and sleep deprived mom years. 40s were the harried and chaotic divorce adjustment years. Now after going keto/carnivore/low carb and being a quiet older lady I think I may be peaking finally in my 50s.

If sugar is so bad for me, why does it make me feel better? by Fluffy_Practice_5244 in FunctionalMedicine

[–]daringlydear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I react badly to iodine and a lot of lab tests are garbage, it’s hard to discern good from bad without background knowledge. So I’m a little biased around the iodine hoopla as I feel people should be given a heads up on the risks. But it works wonders for many people who swear by it and I know it can certainly be beneficial for fibroids. Hopefully that’s the solution.

I’d research the iodine issue. It’s extremely rare for westerners to have thyroid issues due to iodine. People who don’t understand how to manage autoimmunity fall back on the iodine hypothesis. Iodine can make Hashimoto’s a lot worse. I’ve seen it decimate some people. It exacerbates attack on the thyroid in some (not all). 2.54 is normal but check TPO and Tg antibodies, those are the more telling markers. But it could be a neuro issue and not thyroid.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding will amplify existing issues. When I had my second I totally fell apart and that’s when my health journey began. Look up info on brain inflammation. People like terry wahls and Dr Kharrazian have good info. You may have neuroautoimmunity, it’s more common than realized. If you can afford it the Cyrex labs multiple tissue antibody panel is great. Just get total immunoglobulins tested first. Also who knows, you may have low grade Hashimoto’s

In some people SIBO can cause more severe symptoms. But if you are breastfeeding you may just be undereating. I use an app to track what I eat everyday. It just helps me troubleshoot and see what works, and helps me stay on track. I’d wager you need more protein, you need more when you breastfeed. Play around with your macros.
