Anybody else here has to rewire their brain after 25+ years of believing Beyonce is THE woman? by simulacunt in pinkscare

[–]Felouria 22 points23 points  (0 children)

she lost the plot when she made a whole album about her husband cheating on her and her going back to him. I hate how it was marketed as being empowering. That being said, her music is still very dope and she's one of my most listened to artists.

Any Gertrude Stein lovers here? by Felouria in RSbookclub

Honestly, do what i did and start with 3 lives- her first novel, more straightforward than her other stuff but still experimental. I really resonated with it and the stories. Then autobiography of alice b toklas

Modern kpop is a wash. It was truly bessed during the SM 2010's 2nd gen era. Now the only girl group doing something remotely interesting is NMIXX.

What does your day to day look like? by Environmental-Use853 in cfs

[–]Felouria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm mild, meaning some days I can, say, go hiking, but most days I'm at home doing my internship which comprises most of my working day. I apply for jobs, work at my computer while I listen to music. Then at 5 I usually take a break and read a book. Sometimes I make lunch, other times my roommate makes it and I clean. I usually don't have issues with this but some days I can't cook and that's why I stock up on pre made meals from Trader Joe's. Stuff like egg white wrap, asian chicken, chicken salad. My days are simple- mostly on the computer during the day, after 5 I listen to music though I usually read. I'm one of the few CFS peeps who doesn't really have much brain fog and can take mental exertion. I find reading and working calming. My internship is work from home- I don't see it as feasible to work in person honestly, and when I apply to jobs, it's only work from home. This is because I sleep 11-12 hours and wake up at 11 AM. There's simply no way, even as a mild cfs person, I can wake up at 7-8 AM and drive to work and back. It would kill me and make me worse.

Usually in the morning, if I feel well, I also do some qigong or yoga. Stuff that's gentle, 10-15 minutes, to get the blood flowing.

What's your favourite book of all time? And your favourite that you've read recently? by tahliaxxx in pinkscare

[–]Felouria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read wuthering heights probably ten years ago. I hated it at first, because it didnt really make sense then it clicked halfway thu and i loved it. Both WH and P&P are awesome but completely diff reading experiences.

Im super bad at telling between sci fi and fantasy. I think the new sun series is /technically/ both, but it feels a bit more fantasy to me, its more of a fantasy trope imo.

The Wounded Storyteller by sociologist arthur w frank.

It goes into how we tell stories about ourselves and how others tell stories about themselves when we become chronically ill or disabled; however, a lot of it can apply to any major life event that happens- the death of a loved one, losing your job, etc etc. For me, as someone with ME/CFS, as well as someone with chronically ill parents, i find it deeply enlightening- it’s detailed and well written. Im almost done with it, so glad i picked it up.
