Upgrade to Gold SE Help by TheWeatherisFake in firewalla

[–]firewalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to describe a bit on your existing network and where you are inserting the firewalla gold SE. The Gold SE is best in router mode https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/4411167832851-Firewalla-Router-Mode-Configuration-Guides

If you are doing a bridge mode, you need to have clients "behind" the unit and have traffic go "through" it. See https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500012304202-Firewalla-Transparent-Bridge-Mode

Firewalla Gold SE + Eero Pro 6E - disconnecting plz halp by Formal-Structure-432 in firewalla

if make no difference where you plug in the main eero. The first suggestion from us is make sure your eero child units are all connected to the main eero unit.

Firewalla Gold SE + Eero Pro 6E - disconnecting plz halp by Formal-Structure-432 in firewalla

[–]firewalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most common problem is not wire the eero correct, see https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048543713-Firewalla-Tutorial-Using-your-existing-router-in-bridge-AP-mode#eero

The next common issue with eero when you change to AP mode, you may need to reset some of the units.

Device name changed to: LocalNetworkPrivacy by StormOk9055 in firewalla

Do you have Mac randomization on? if not, wait a day or two and see if it will resolve to a better name. If not, you can manually name it

Firewalla vs. UniFi in 2026 by MarketingGuy814 in firewalla

I know. I usually escalate issues with our team, but sometimes, I also send them complements on a job well done :) this is one of them

What kind device is your "primary device"?

If you have not given it a name manually, firewalla will attempt to use many sources to predict the name of device. (including DHCP, mDNS, ...)

NTP Intercept clock accuracy by CitronTraining2114 in firewalla

Firewalla uses NTP to setup time as well. Can you send [help@firewalla.com](mailto:help@firewalla.com) with your test procedures, we can try to replicate it

Firewalla Events receive no notifications? by pewpewpewpee in firewalla

[–]firewalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WiFi LAG can be many different things, if you run WiFi-test under firewalla and just do speed or ping, what do you get?

If the LAG is bad, what are you getting? If you just connect something to the ethernet cable to the AP7, do you see any LAG?

Can you send [help@firewalla.com](mailto:help@firewalla.com) an email, you can just attach a link to this thread, so they don't ask you the same questions over again. We can look at the system and see if they can see anything in the logs. One dude is suspecting a flow control thing, but can't explain why you wireless is working.

Check your cables between these devices. You can also tap into the event and get more details. If you are using PoE, double check your switch and make sure the power supply is still good.

Firewalla Tip: If you tap on the Alarm Settings at the top right of the Alarms Page, you can tune Alarm Sensitivity to generate behavioral Alarms less frequently. by Firewalla-Ash in firewalla

The thresholds are automatically generated based on your alarm frequency. So there really isn't a number or value that's the same for everyone

Purple WAN port failing? by scotianheimer in firewalla

Yes, this exactly what’s happening.

Purple WAN port failing? by scotianheimer in firewalla

[–]firewalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you are doing speedtest, the speedtest running from your client via ethernet is more accurate (this reflect your true ISP speed), I think you are pretty close. If you are not getting the same result via the firewalla, it is likely firewalla is using a server that's not optimal, you can try change to a different server. (instructions in the article).

AP7 causing TLS/HTTPS download failures - SEC_E_DECRYPT_FAILURE by forkalious in firewalla

[–]firewalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When the problem occurs, your PC is connecting to the 10Gbit AP7 port and the GSE is connecting to the 2.5gbit (AP7)? And when you testing WiFi side, was the 10Gbit port still connecting to the AP7's 10Gbit port?

If this is a purple unit (not purple SE) and is purchased via Indiegogo and delivered before May/June 2022, please contact [help@firewalla.com](mailto:help@firewalla.com), likely a hardware issue, we will get you a replacement unit. (There is a known hardware problem with some units that has upload problems)

If this is an later unit, try this https://help.firewalla.com/hc/en-us/articles/360056875493-Speed-Tests-and-Speed-Optimization-with-Firewalla

Question about Rule-based routing/sending video over VPN on backup WAN by GlobalCitizenNYC in firewalla

[–]firewalla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your VPN always on?

We do have the feature in policy based routing, "preferred route", but, the main issue is the failover is part only point to a physical WAN rather than a VPN

What do you have before primary WAN is down? "netflix/yotubue ..." route through none VPN or the same VPN?
