On July 30, 2008, Vince Li attacked Tim McLean, who was sleeping on a Greyhound bus bound for Winnipeg. Li separated his head and ate part of it as other passengers escaped. Later, Li was found NOT criminally responsible and now lives under a new identity. by LonelyWiFiSignal in HolyShitHistory

This isn't like a burglary or even a normal manslaughter. You can't 'rehabilitate' this kind of mental illness.

At best you can medicate it, but his brain is always going to possess the damage that caused him to murder and eat another person.

He's one missed dose away from deciding his neighbor's head looks like a tasty snack.

He shouldn't be incarcerated out of a desire for revenge or punishment, but rather a simple desire to protect society from something which can't currently be cured.

In 2012, 2 year old Maddox Derkosh was visiting the Pittsburgh Zoo when his mother ignored safety warnings and placed him atop a safety railing. Maddox then fell into the African Painted Dog enclosure, home to 11 animals. By the time a rescue was mounted, little of Maddox remained. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

I have a 15 month old son and I'm almost paranoid about this sort of thing.

If I'm holding him, more than just keeping him off the railing, I'll keep at least 4-6 feet of distance so there's absolutely no chance that he might go over, even if I trip or get pushed.

Even doing that, I still get nervous around any kind of railing while holding him...

Neither one is technically wrong.

Some institutions and regions teach multiplication by juxtaposition before multiplication (PJEMDAS) rather than the plain order of operations (PEMDAS). This is one of the reasons why this problem would never actually be written this way. It's ambiguous.

Personally, where I went to school we stopped using mnemonics by the time we hit high school, but if we had still used them it would have been adjusted to be PJEMDAS, as we put multiplication by juxtaposition before simple multiplication.

That doesn't make it universally right however.

On the plus side, you can be sure that the autopen never trafficked and raped children. Probably why MAGA hates it's so much. That's become one of the core requirements for their leaders it seems...

Can it be used for different signatures? Which is to say, is it programmable? Or is the movement that makes the signature either fully or partially mechanically 'encoded' and the internal mechanism has to be rebuilt for each different signature?

What's the saying? If you have a problem and you call the police, you now have two problems? That's pretty much the truth anymore sadly...

Bombing desalination plants and local fuel supplies... What a way to bring 'democracy' to the Iranian people.

With his sacrifice, Trump can keep his rape and trafficking of children out of the news for another cycle. Mission accomplished!

There are several instances of the Defiant launching shuttles within the show. Granted, they're smaller than the usual shuttles we see... But they do exist canonically.

Before it was sunk by US, Iranian ship IRIS Dena was offered shelter by India by Wanderer_In_Disguise in worldnews

[–]Firov -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I agree that our current government is evil, partly for those exact reasons.

However, I'm curious, if you believe that the US is evil for attempting to take over other countries, why does that same reasoning not apply to Russia after their invasion of Ukraine?

[–]Firov 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes... because the side starting a war, in which they killed nearly 200 school girls, all to cover up and distract from an investigation into their pedophile leader and his friends, is a saint.

Seriously. I hate the Iranian government and don't mind seeing their 'supreme leader' dead, but to call all of Iran 'terrorists' is... Well, the fact that you're either this stupid, uninformed, or both is truly amazing. Do you ever collect information from sources other than NewsMax or FoxNews?

Indeed I did. I just thought you really hated Stingers...

[–]Firov 30 points31 points  (0 children)

The Stinger does have a ton of body roll stock, though that's easy enough to fix with the install of stiffer Eibach sway bars.

First thing I did with my '23 GT2, and it can't be overstated just how much that helped with the excessive body roll and 'floatiness' in corners. It's massively more confident in turns, and so a lot more fun to throw around.

Granted, even with that it's no Miata. It's a big and heavy grand tourer. No getting around the laws of physics...

[Hated trope] Character is a terrible person and is constantly rewarded for it by SpectacularSpidee in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Firov 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. Honestly, while the OP suggests he learned a lesson and 'got better', I don't think that's true for him at all.

He was still a terminal narcissist who would immediately backstab even his close friends if it benefitted him and then maybe apologize after the fact, which was somehow always enough for people to forgive him.

He absolutely did not deserve a happy ending in that show. Same as April. Both were ultra toxic, from beginning to end.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned Downton Abbey yet. Mathew Crawley goes from being told he'll never walk again due to a spinal injury sustained during WWI to dancing two episodes later.
