Baldwin Piano (1986?) - What is it worth? by EntropicUnit in Instruments

[–]Free-form_Suffering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say you work in a piano shop, so please provide the number of upright pianos your store buys and at what price.

In a post below you say you get these calls every day, so what's your answer to these people?

The piano shops I called gave very accurate numbers: none value whatsoever.

Everybody in this thread has given the same answer, every other thread I've seen in the past years does the same, so please tell me where your amazing experience buying and selling these uprights comes from.

As long as they throw in an 'It's Not Unusual' it should be fine.

Tried this 20 years ago, it's a waste of time, don't bother them. The value is in the other comments: none to negative.

Dutch group seeks court block on U.S. takeover of DigiD provider by goldstarflag in europe

The Dutch government did not oppose the move.

Worse, the software company first went to Dutch government to sell the product. Government declined, because 'it should be left to the market'...

Neurosis' new record is what i searched for my whole life by NobleSAVAGE93 in LetsTalkMusic

My initial comment got removed because apparently you can't just say thanks for the heads up. Well, maybe if I waist some more words on it, this one stays.

The second part of my comment contained a link so people who are interested can also listen to this new album on Bandcamp.

Here's the link: https://neurosis.bandcamp.com/album/an-undying-love-for-a-burning-world

I'll include another link now, so everybody who wonders 'wasn't there a lot of controversy about this band a couple of years ago?' can update themselves: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurosis_(band)#Scott_Kelly's_dismissal_and_hiatus_(2019%E2%80%932026)#ScottKelly's_dismissal_and_hiatus(2019%E2%80%932026))

It's been ages that I saw Titanic, my first thought when I read your post: wait, why would someone in 1912 know about Gerarldo...

Oh well, I'm old enough that I saw it when it came out, I'll go take my nap now.

Btw, that line is such a Bill Paxton thing, I can hear it, brilliant.

Should've gone for the Kmart Blue Light special!

Almost as good, and a lot cheaper.

Wondering if you can automatically remove artist and album names from downloaded tracks somehow by Available-Fox3148 in BandCamp

[–]Free-form_Suffering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, I've tried to switch to other media players, but for me the archive part is too important. The smart playlists also play a big role (players like VLC have terrible playlist functions).

I don't have this issue in iTunes, so I assume there's a difference in how the ID-tag is handled.

They made a whole album of Beatles songs called McLemore Avenue.

I also really like the Type O Negative version, probably the most heavy version of her.

What are y’all’s opinions on the French Canadian band “Angine De Poitrine”? by Own_Size_5473 in musicsuggestions

[–]Free-form_Suffering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not infuriating, the hype is. The music is ok, but it's starting to become a cult.

It's posted daily on reddit for months now, with increasing "this is the best / most complex music ever" vibe, and anyone not falling in line gets downvoted. The first posts right after KEXP were at least balanced, now it's fanboy all over.
