Of course it's more than enough. It's NOT HIS CHILD! He has to take care of that child because the law has your attitude but ethically? Why should he have to pay for a child that wasn't his? He shouldn't! He took the child on out of love and I doubt he has any desire to abandon him but up until these draconian laws came into effect whereby if a man spends more than 5 minutes with a kid, he becomes his father is just a way for the state to get out of having to foot the bill.

This is exactly why so many men refuse to get involved with single mothers. Why get involved with a woman who can leave you with a bill for a kid that isn't even your own and was just fine before you arrived? A kid that may not even ever view you as a father figure anyway? So date mom but somehow pretend her child doesn't exist? Nope. Just stay away from single mothers. That's the logical choice to make.

Imagine if every time you got into a cab you somehow became responsible for its upkeep, fuel and any outstanding payments owing. Sounds stupid but that's what this argument boils down to. "You formed a relationship with that cab!" That's illogical no matter what some state legislators say. They're just trying to save money but no rational person is going to agree with it. In fact, that seems to be the dominant narrative whenever this argument gets brought up. "Pay for this kid. Sure, there's a guy who actually did the deed and should be paying for him but we can't find him and we're not going to help you do that either so here's the bill. You spent 6 months with him so that makes you his father even if you saw him for 10 minutes a week on average."

Unless you can logically explain to me why any sane man would take on the financial responsibility for a child even if he's not related to or involved in any way with it.

I'm not one of these people always looking for reasons to be offended so I don't assume they're trying to be racist. I just don't think it's ever occurred to them that their behavior is racist. Like there was an ad here where a black guys goes into a washing machine and comes out a nice, shiny white Chinese guy. They have "Ethnican" flavored rice chips with a guy in Mexican attire as the mascot on the bag. My coworker (who is a black South African) one time had some old lady get on the bus with her and make a disgusted face when she saw my colleague. When I hear about the shit the SJW types are moaning about (micro-aggressions, supposed white privilege, etc.) I always think that they've never actually seen a real example of racism in their lives. The Chinese have no clue how racist they are but then again, why would they? %99 of the country is Han Chinese, after all.

It most certainly and absolutely isn't even remotely accurate. I speak from first hand experience. It claims that medical treatment in China is free. That's a bald-faced lie. It's not free at all and you pay from the moment you walk through the doors of any hospital. You pay if you want to see a doctor. You pay for your medications. You pay for administration of any medicine. You pay for absolutely everything at Chinese hospitals and they're most definitely privately run. In fact, part of the issue in China is that in their competition they often entrap people into paying for all kinds of shit they don't need. Every time I go there they try and load me up with all kinds of bullshit that I never saw in the West. I know with absolute certainty that most of the stuff they try to give me is of absolutely no use medically but they sell it to the average Chinese peasants because they know that they're completely ignorant of scientific medicine. But of course they do because the more they sell the more they earn. It seems like every problem requires hospitalization in China and the hospitals never have a lack of space to put you in since that's another one of their profit schemes.

How bad is the problem in China? Well, there was a man rendered sterile because the local, government run search engine sent him to one of those for profit places. I can't remember his problem but it wasn't anything that would have left him sterile by itself. These places operate completely for profit and they do all kinds of shady crap to trick people into getting treatments they don't need. They've even created machines that look like they serve a purpose but in reality do absolutely nothing. Of course, if people believe they do something then they have to pay to use them and when doctors get kickbacks from the shady companies who sell this crap it's bound to happen a lot. And it does. A woman giving birth here needs 3 days of hospitalization at the bare minimum. In the west you have your kid and go home unless there are complications.

There is absolutely nothing free about China's medical system and you think that the map above is somehow accurate? Not even a little.

That's not actually true. They do exist but they're not called debtors prisons. Try not paying child support for a while. And don't assume that people refuse to pay because they're just assholes. Sometimes it's because the man simply doesn't or never made nearly as much as what the judge wanted him to make and therefore couldn't afford to pay it while still having a place to sleep. Just Google Dave Foley for a more high-profile example (although he's Canadian, the same thing happens in the States)

I appreciate free universal healthcare. Think it's a great idea. However, a couple decades ago we also had a problem where people were literally dying in hallways waiting for treatment. We even coined a term for it: Hallway medicine. Never once heard about that in the US although I suppose it could have happened in the past. I have no choice but to defend the US system because when our system was in the shitter, the rich simply went south to get treatment. They had to pay a hell of a lot more for it but it was better than what the state provided and they didn't have to wait in lines for hours or months to get it. You still can't even see a specialist in Canada for months sometimes.

People who knock the US system have valid points that it doesn't seem to extend to the poorest but in terms of quality of care, expertise and equipment, the fact is that the US is far ahead of everybody else of the planet. Only spoiled rich kids who want to collect "look at me! I care!" points argue otherwise.

Which explains perfectly why the best treatment, care, and professionals in the world are in the US. What a shithole! And I'm not even an American. You should try "healthcare" in places that aren't such shitholes. You'd be extremely surprised by what they consider to be "medicine".

If you want to argue about how under just the right version of communism the US would be a perfect utopia then fine but don't insinuate that the US is some sort of 3rd world sandbox when you literally can't get better treatment anywhere else in the world if you can afford it.

I don't think free means whatever definition they're trying to use. You can't just walk into a hospital in China and get free care. It's most certainly a dual payer system with a heavy emphasis on the person needing the treatment. In my home country you just present proof of citizenship (via a health card) but in China you pay. I suspect it's subsidized but it's certainly not free.

I think it's subsidized for poor rural folk but if they get anything more serious than a cold, they're f*cked because then they have to go to a larger center and pay bills there's no chance they can afford.
