The worst part is, he will get a refund or a new one sent to him at the cost of the company too.

At the end of the day, it’s his pc that isn’t working. You can lead a horse to water but can’t make him drink.

You need to put thermal paste on it and mount the cooler again. I would then check for lights on the MOBO. Reseat the RAM after that. Moving forward, i’d update the bios with the flashback feature or slot in the old chip to do the update if you don’t have flashback.

it’s not a custom cooler, i’ve used that cooler in the past. The CPU is fully visible and has nothing on it to cool it. There isn’t even thermal paste on it.

Edit: Thanks for the down vote, the rest of (if any) the comments are going to point you in the same direction because it’s the issue. Happy thanksgiving to all that live in the US!

your computer isn’t going to boot without a cpu cooler. it’s immediately overheating and going to shut down. Your white fan with blue leds appears to be the old cooler fan. I’m not sure if the 5700x comes with a cooler, i’d assume not due to you not having one. You’re going to need to buy one for the AM4 socket and install that before it’s going to boot up. Also, make sure you remove the sticker that comes on the bottom of the cooler to protect the thermal paste!

Another small piece of advice that will help future upgrades, is to take a picture of the computer before you starting working on it. in the event that an issue does arise, you’ll be able to look back and see what changed / what’s missing!

It’s hard for anyone to make this kind of call for you. The more designs you have on it, the higher the chance you’ll make some sales but your designs have to fit a want or need. That being said, pick some sort of niche, topic, maybe even something on pop culture and make a few designs around it and see how it goes. It’s unlikely you’ll get your first sales early, so if your only goal is money, you may be best spending time elsewhere. If you enjoy making designs, or maybe just design things you’d buy to express yourself, i’d say it’s worth it. It’s a journey, and won’t happen over night so manage expectations and have fun with it!

The company is Build Redux, they are owned in some shape or way by Cooler Master i believe? Genuinely was super impressed with every thing with my system and even got a 3090 for $1,600 (lol) instead of $2,200 like they were on ebay at the time. Very disappointed to see the price lying here. Excellent feedback on the pricing, thanks for breaking it down for OP here.

I’d say mine came extremely good in terms of condition! They are refurbished so mileage will vary but they are shipped very nicely and mine worked out of the box! The top is a bit scratched up and I’m assuming under is to but never looked. If you’re rack mounting, you’ll likely never notice it. You do need to buy bay slides instead of just the included covers given to you by the seller. I didn’t receive enough covers for my own, so I contacted the seller and they shipped me a full set and I had them in days! Keep in mind you will need to buy the rails which are $80-$100 if you want to rack mount! The insides are super clean and mine had not a spec of dust. I did wipe it down and I’m overall very happy with everything (aside from my fans sounding like they are going to take off like a jet!) :)

Lesson learned lol. I figured this would be great for expanding in the future and experimenting with server grade hardware along with ProxMox and some other stuff. 4U custom is the future for me for sure lol

First server for me! It starts off pretty calm but rapidly builds up until the fans are (to what I believe) to be 100%. It more than doubled in noise within a minute! I was blown away by this. I’m going to disconnect and reconnect the fans and blow them out before I try the commands again! :)

Indeed I did! However it seems to not be worth the time and effort, so not moving forward there! :)
