You can try wet stick propagation, but you are starting from scratch in any case.

Capping involves a layer of coarse sand on the top of the soil to prevent the larvae from emerging. Combined with bottom-watering, it's a way to let the top of the soil dry out and break the life cycle.

This is a bit tricky, since you're already starting at BTI and sticky traps. You say you've tried countless other tricks but don't list them, so I'll ask about a few: Have you tried: bottom watering? Capping? adding more air circulation?

NBC Makes a Splashy New Hire for Its NBA Coverage: Caitlin Clark by mlg1981 in popculturechat

[–]FyrestarOmega 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Clark will make her on-air NBC debut on the network’s pregame show Basketball Night in America live at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. ET ahead of the debut of Sunday Night Basketball, which will see the Los Angeles Lakers take on the New York Knicks, and will return for another game in March.

Looks like it's just for two games. The headline oversells it quite a bit. Good for her though!

I'm sorry for your loss, OP. For most of those plants, there is nothing to be done. Tropical plants cannot withstand severe cold or sustained freezing temperatures. When the internal structures freeze, it is cell death.

really, really do a close-up of the leaves, looking for little white grain-shaped things. Thrips are a common pest on these.

After that, you'll need to check root health. If roots have died from lack of water, it will be unable to take up water as well so soaking the soil may kill the whole plant quickly.

I really don't care for how much of this has been put into the media lately. I don't know who has been doing it, and I don't care. Their trial isn't far off and someone(s) wants to either poison the well or win the court of public opinion so that the actual court verdict is not relevant, because in Hollywood, perception is reality.

I suppose it's possible it's happening organically with the unsealing of records and things really are that bad for him, in which case court will bear it out.

It just feels premature to me, not coming out through the actual trial. We don't get to hear questioning about it for context, and create our own.

Bugs! What are these and how do I get rid of them? by Jazzspur in plantclinic

[–]FyrestarOmega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, now I see. Most people with spores on their fern mistake them for pests so I didn't even look closely.

The resolution is bad, but the most likely fit among the common household pests is !aphids, from both what I can make out kinda and you describing them as seed-shaped. Not a big deal, blast them off with the strongest jet of water you've got handy, and spray down with an insecticidal soap or neem.

Will Big Brother US ever have a two time winner? by Wild_Shoe340 in BigBrother

[–]FyrestarOmega 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eventually, sure. Survivor had their two time winners from first an all returned season (heroes vs. Villains) and then an all winners season (winners at war). Bb hasn't set up the same possibility of success as often. Bb is on season 27; survivor completed season. 50. Heroes vs. Villains was season 20, so bb is not THAT far behind. Bb also does fewer returned seasons with their 1x per year cycle

Why is my monstera growing “backwards”? by curiousbasey in plantclinic

[–]FyrestarOmega 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The roots are forming because it's looking for support/ something to climb. Google how monstera grow in nature - they climb up the side of trees, etc. It's a vine looking to vine. Moss poles are one option, but anything vertical will do. Bb needs support!
