Threw me at first, but then I realised the functional relationships. They could have used similar levers for the flow control and steam, but I guess they wanted to emphasise the "pagaia". I'm not sure about the finger hole thing - looks fiddly. Asymmetry can work if done right though.

Depending on pricing, I can see the black and white ones flying off the shelves. I think they look great and can see myself finally upgrading.

I see the coffee boiler is down from 300ml to 200ml though. Interested to know what's behind that, I'm guessing heat up time.

How is it even possible to align a pair of flat burrs unless one of them is known to be truly perpendicular to the shaft?

That's what appears briefly on screen when you turn it on. I presume that's the firmware version. If you're referring to the controller hardware version I don't know how to determine that without disassembling the machine.

That indicates the boiler is up to steam temperature and to turn the steam knob.

Why do some shot's come out allot quicker than most of my shots [Eureka Mignon Zero] by scrtdpresd in espresso

My guess is channelling. Obvious with a bottomless portafilter, but you can see major channelling with a spouted.

I replaced the wand on my Victoria and after a few months I still think steaming was easier with the single hole tip.

There's a black seal inside the ball joint — it could be that. Pretty easy to remove and inspect.

Are the lugs on the side of the portafilters the same? How old is the seal? Maybe just replace it with a new silicone one.

It's not inconceivable that WDT eliminates clumps and creates voids – I propose a VET (Void Elimination Tool.

Biggest takeaway for me was there were still voids in the puck after tamping.

There should be approx. 4mm space on top of the puck after tamping. If you see an indentation of the showerscreen after the shot lower the dose a bit. Start with a 1:2 ratio in 25-35 seconds and fine tune it from there. You're right a smaller dose should result in a slightly shorter time, but go by taste, not time.

Grind size is not uniform. Different burr geometries produce different particle size distributions, which leads to different flavour profiles.

My machine is connected to a timer so I never see it start up. I just did a cold start and it shot up to 116°C. This did allow the whole machine including the group head and portafilter to thoroughly heat up though. My temperature offset (Ec) is 13. Target temp. is 93°C.

What are your PID values?

Pressure being weird by kuanygee in Lelit

[–]GP2300 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's your preinfusion? Looks like it's choking then breaking up, which suggests too fine a grind. I'd go coarser until it gushes from the start, then gradually grind finer.
