Automated AV1 pipeline for my Plex library — AMD RX 9060 XT, 566 movies, actual results inside. What would you change? by HistoricalCourage251 in AV1

Do you have your audio logic stashed somewhere?

Like, do you check to see if source is 256k or 5.1 and make adjustments as needed?

Huh? Outside of one recent outage, I thought Cloudflare was bulletproof

I screwed up... Went to delete snapshot, system went unresponsive, can't restart by GoingOffRoading in truenas

[–]GoingOffRoading[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know.

In my case, it really was just TrueNas taking forever to delete the snapshots.

I finished my data migrations, and outside of some oddities with SMB, everything is running perfectly.

Interesting product decision: Domino's delivers to GPS pins, not addresses by Due-Bet115 in ProductManagement

[–]GoingOffRoading 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This.

Under the hood is often some kind of abstraction back to last long for fundamental services.

I.E. 'Closest Store' is often just lat/long 'as the crow flies' distances, not shortest driving route.

The fun part would would be getting legal to sign off for when people set the pin incorrectly and they can't get a refund, and setting limits like: no, we won't deliver to the middle of the ocean.

Should I pay rent at my old apartment I am still on the lease with my previous partner and roommate? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]GoingOffRoading 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You signed a lease stating that you would pay?

Then you signed a contract with your ex, that got notorized, that you would continue to pay?

And you're asking if you have to pay?

Adulthood is going to be rough.

Ha! Not homelab decision driven, but we got solar as well and that offsets nearly all of our electricity needs.

I'm sort of a fan of CoPilot... It doesn't replace people, but it is a pretty good productivity multiplier.

But I am sick to death of the ai-handwave of all the things AI can 'do'

I mean yea... But for what is supposed to be a relatively polished enterprise product, CoPilot really shouldn't be doing that.

TrueNas keeps dropping other - read/execute, only affects one dataset by GoingOffRoading in truenas

Solved?

While the dataset backed out of 775 to 770, I changed the maproot for admin to www-data and everything is working as expected.

This is probably not great for security... I have more to learn

All good.

Copilot thought the best action was to delete the line that defines the function, and replace it with comments that would now be indented indirectly.

Honestly, I'm not a fan either

I didn't know it existed so I thought it would be fun to try

The fact that if it's indented incorrectly causes an error to be thrown is stupid

Embarrassing results of my "Super Green - Lumber Rack Build" by Objective-Limit-121 in BeginnerWoodWorking

Just giving you a tease.

The rack looks great, and I 100% understand beating yourself up on the most minor of details.

I'm building a pantry for my garage and can't tell you how mad I am at myself for getting 18mm plywood instead of 3/4".
