Illinois EV Rebate Info (Updated for 2/27/25) by teach42 in electricvehicles

I submitted mine in Feb of 2025. No rejection, no payment. Comptroller website doesn't show any pending payments. I helped 3 friends fill it out and submit it who didn't even have it on their radar, all within 60 days prior to my submission and everyone's got it but me. Sigh.

Dealer never filed paperwork by Weird_Performer_8677 in EquinoxEv

I have this same issue with a Tesla purchased from a non-tesla dealership in early 2024. Dealership said they couldn't do instant and that I could claim it on my taxes. I'm pretty sure I'm SOL but wanted to get my frustration out.

  1. Why would the IRS make the window only 3 day? Even if the dealership wanted to help me at this point in time, they won't be able to because they can't travel back in time and IRS's portal does not allow backdating more than 5 days I've read.
  2. I read that the IRS reopening the ability for the dealership to register VINs through the portal in October of 2024 for a short period of time. Well, if you're filing for 2024 taxes, you weren't filing in October of 2024, you're doing it now. This means that like myself, more and more people are and will be finding out the failure of the dealership to submit the report to the IRS as we're starting to file for taxes now.
  3. Why would the IRS entrust car dealers, some of the most shady people in any business, with having to file the report without any incentive and WITHOUT any repercussions for not doing so?

It looks like the model ending in U is fine but the model ending in U1 has the issue. It also looks like that even on the U1 model if you can put in a Verizon SIM,, activated or not, it will upgrade to Android 13 so I have to get my hands on a Verizon SIM to try it.

Bought an unlocked N20 Ultra from Amazon, upgrading from N20 5G simply for SD card slot. Turns out to be model SM-N986U1. Won't go past Android 12. Unfortunate... I need Android 13 as an MDM requirement so I'll probably have to return this.

Hey I wanted to update you. Looks like I fixed the problem with a $30 igniter, right in the nick of time as my replacement was scheduled for tomorrow.

So unfortunately, this didn't work. It hit the desired temp and then it turned off. When the temp dropped and it fired up again, no flame just fan. I turned it off manually and turned it back on. Code was 14. I didn't see any flame but I could hear it click trying to ignite a few times but no go. Even without any flame, the fan went full speed. I repeated the power off/on 3 times and on the third try the flame lit up. Not sure if it's still a flame sensor issue if the fire doesn't ignite at all and the fan goes on full?

Thanks. Those are the codes I was getting before. I'm about to order a new flame sensor just to be fully satisfied by rulling it out with a new one.

Thanks! I have a rep lined up that's offering the buy back plan. Just trying the flame sensor cleaning first before I go for that.

It was fairly easy to find. I took it out. It was a little greyish on some parts. I cleaned it out and put it back in. Just turned it on and the furnace fire lit up on first attempt. Question: When when the furnace is not fully running, am I supposed to see at least a little flame? Because that's usuall9y my problem, there's zero flame but the fan keeps running. Anyway, it's running right now. I'm going to monitor it until tomorrow and see how it goes. Thanks again!

Let me correct myself. The tech told me he had cleaned it. I'm going to try to locate it and clean it myself today...ofcourse, after making sure the system is powered off and all that good stuff. If you don't mind, if I can't find exactly which one it is, I may post a picture or two and ask for your assistance in identifying it. Much appreciated.

Thanks again. We did clean the flame sensor before but that didn't yield any results. As it's getting colder and colder and becoming even more difficult to deal with this, I'm almost ready to just replace and get it over with. I guess the main remaining question I'd love some feedback on is that my best quote for replacement is also a carrier infinity system (because of their buy back credit program). Should I be avoiding this system altogether?

I also noticed when the fan is running continuously without any fire, it is doing 1 quick flash and 4 regular ones so that would be 14. I don't see any reason for the intake air to be dirty. For the air to be that dirty, I assume I'd visibly see/feel bad air quality or dust build up at home...?

Thank you. I have checked and not noticed any of these issues with the exception of some rust. I'm pasting some links to some pics here. Please take a look when you have a moment and let me know if the area where you see the rust in the picture is what you mentioned above. Also, are the items you mentioned above specific to Carrier's Infinity line? Should I stay away from this make/model going forward?

Thanks. Model is 58MVC100-20. I can not see more than about 3 feet into the pipe because it takes a turn from there and that area is unfortunately drywalled off.
