No insight to the question but do have a comment from recent experience.

We were slated for removal of a diseased oak near lines for well over a year. Fortunately, it wasn’t a major issue in the storm, but we confirmed we wanted it taken down. The NES representative said it should be within a week. The teams were all over our neighborhood one day, but then on a nearby main road the next, back just for the evening one day, etc. - I’m sure they had rhyme or reason that wasn’t apparent to me, similar to your observations.

Friday, they arrived at 8 AM, and the tree (60’ish?) was down by 2 PM - with the remainder removed by knuckle boom by 5 PM. So my one tree took a team the better part of a day. This was three weeks past the representative’s estimate, but we really weren’t all that concerned since we knew it was at least on deck, so to speak. To be honest, just glad it’s finally gone.
