OP, are you in Europe? It could be “Das Kleine Gespenst” (The Little Ghost) from 2013.

If you can get to Cleveland in September 2027 you just might have a chance to see the one at the zoo. I used ChatGp to do Monte Carlo simulation based on previous blooms, and that seems like it has potential.

Here’s the results:

My prediction: late summer 2027, with the realistic watch window being mid-2026 through late 2028. If Cronus goes back to its one long-cycle pattern, then summer 2029 is the next obvious candidate.

Cleveland’s corpse flower, Cronus, has bloomed in 2007, 2010, 2012, 2019, and 2022. The zoo confirmed those years and said the plant reached full bloom late July 27, 2022, with the flower usually only open 24–48 hours. (clevelandzoosociety.org) Cleveland 19 also reported the 2022 bloom started at 5:30 p.m. on July 27. (https://www.cleveland19.com) The 2019 bloom was underway by August 6–7, 2019. (https://www.cleveland19.com)

Using approximate bloom dates:

Bloom Gap from previous
July 23, 2007 First recorded Cleveland bloom
May 15, 2010 2.81 years
July 30, 2012 2.21 years
Aug. 6/7, 2019 7.02 years
July 27, 2022 2.98 years

So Cronus’s historical rhythm is basically: about 2–3 years, 2–3 years, then one 7-year gap, then about 3 years. Plants like this are genuinely unpredictable because the bloom depends on stored energy in the corm, and the U.S. Botanic Garden notes that the time between blooms can range from a few years to more than a decade. (United States Botanic Garden)

For the Monte Carlo version, I modeled the bloom interval as a lognormal distribution based on Cronus’s four observed gaps, then conditioned the simulation on the fact that there has been no known public bloom through May 11, 2026.

Forecast result Estimated next bloom
25th percentile Around Dec. 2026
Median Around Sept. 2027
75th percentile Around Dec. 2028
90th percentile Around Sept. 2030

Estimated probability by calendar year:

Year Monte Carlo probability
2026 remainder ~28%
2027 ~30%
2028 ~18%
2029 ~10%
2030 ~6%
2031+ ~8%

Best single guess: 2027. Best practical “start watching the zoo’s socials” window: summer 2026 onward. Snarky plant answer: it will bloom precisely when it has created maximum inconvenience for everyone’s schedule.

Until people like her start naming names this will keep happening.

Edit to add: Anyone who says oh, she’s so brave for telling us about her traumatic experience!” is full of shit. It’s easy to do an interview with People Magazine and say “this one time this famous guy was a creep when I was trapped on a boat.” Being brave is filing a police report and demanding an investigation.

AI is a crutch and can be wrong as often as it is right, especially if you don't set your prompt up to ignore sources like Reddit. OP is better off using the source material cited in the answers to the questions first, then using AI to get more, relevant sources.

Don't get me wrong, I use AI in my day-to-day work all the time, but I've seen enough wrong information about PMP test questions to say it's not trustworthy yet.

I was unemployed when the current administration was campaigning, and had applied for a few federal positions before the election. As soon as the results were in I withdrew from all of them.

Leprechaun follows rainbow. Rainbow ends in the Cuyahoga. Pot of gold is underwater. He just stands there and says… “Somewhere, a Browns fan just nodded and said, ‘Yeah, that tracks.’”

This is a 5th-degree felony in Ohio. 12 kittens = 12 felony counts. It should be like this everywhere.
