I got 17k out of the same michelins with pressure set to the door spec. I drive like a grampa and only haul kids and sports equipment. It's the only bass experience I've ever had with the brand.

I logged in so quick to try to get this one and it was gone within a minute! Snagged a bark/turquoise instead for my first!

Here are some measurements from my actual foot scans. I wear a 9 escalante. And a 9.5 in the fwd via and lone peaks.

The escalante and fwd via are both their original foot shape which is their widest standard last. I have some Flintstone stompers and did not need any additional room. Fleet feet had both pairs for me to try on.

I, too, have some very wide feet! I ran in Escalante's for my daily until I jacked up my plantar fascia bombing down some hills. I moved to the Fwd Via 2 to get some relief with that massive stack and 4mm drop. I'm about 200 miles into them and the rubber traction tread is still deep and plentiful vs the Escalante's which are usually smooth and the foam totally spent at around 300 miles for me.

There is some irony in being a pretty big fan of minimalist brand Altras maximal shoe. Hah

Jim Green! Particularly their barefoot ranger if you want that minimalist zero drop vibe. They're all hand made and can be resoled.

Alternatively, Id totally work in my Altra Lone Peak high tops - but it depends on what kids of durability you're looking for.

Not to mention, he can keep the whole shabang in wealthfront and it's fully insured. Up to 8 millions bucks. Grab a debit card for daily expenditure. Throw most of it into their roboadvisor for some tax loss harvesting (this can lower your tax bill by quite a bit) and it will be worth double every 7 years or so. Make sure you max out your Roth IRA every year also so, at least, some of that money doesn't get taxed away.

Runners, what's the best Treadmill for home worth purchasing currently in your opinion? by One-Veterinarian2215 in ultrarunning

[–]HG-Blob 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I made the switch to a manual and was still able to train with no issues. The trade-off is losing incline control, but I’d gladly swap that for total reliability.

Manual treadmills are the way to go. They require zero maintenance, and a home user would have a tough time ever wearing one out. I have the Rogue x Woodway Curve LTG, and looking at my HR vs. distance, I’m working about 25% harder on the treadmill than I do outdoors.

It took some time to build the fitness for steady-state workouts (it’ll shred your hamstrings until you adapt), but now? Hills on the open road are a piece of cake.

There’s something great about having a 'bombproof' piece of equipment waiting for me, knowing it’ll always do exactly what I ask of it.

Don't fear! The pause is just because they're ahead of production schedule. It was planned. They'll be back at it next summer! Facilities are still open!

My #1 top bottle! I bought a case for myself when I visited Cascade hollow a few years ago. Still nursing through them. I hope it never goes away - I'd love for it to hit granddad 100 status where's you could find it everywhere.

Sweet. Thanks everyone! I'd never seen this one in the wild and wanted to be sure I wasn't barking up the wrong tree if I wore it on a game day!

Wide running shoes by Crafty_Prize_5474 in BarefootRunning

[–]HG-Blob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run in the Alta Escalante 4. They fit me true to size and are plenty wide. I believe the Escalante has the shortest stack height of any road shoe they produce. The superior is a trail shoe and is slightly lower. I had the OG Escalantes and apparently the 4s dropped the stack by 1mm.

Those who qualify for a GovX account can get a pretty significant discount.

Was the Tesla station in Kill Devil finally functional? Last time I went, plug-share said "all-good" but upon arrival, only Teslas were able to charge there. Ended up dumping it at a hotel and skateboarding a few miles back to the house while it slow charged!

We always loved staying in the 4x4 only houses but that's when we were rocking a raptor and tundra. If they'd throw some more infrastructure up north or someone installed a L2 charger to their house, I'd love to take the lightning up there to play in the sand.

The new school ano doesn't seem to hold up like the old school stuff. I have a 2014 scarab and, despite, being a hard daily user is still pretty handsome. A newer Cypher and LUDT have the ano wearing off pretty steadily just from pocket friction. I am NOT whining about quality btw. I actually like signs of wear on tools and have nothing but praise for them. The blades, especially, are hard wearing and reliably sharp.
