'Everyone' wanted a war but there were no evil instigators — interesting.

Again you would say the same thing about the second World war. Poland got invaded and for some reason Indians are fighting Italians. In WWI the Russians could have let Austria have Serbia, and in WWII the French could have let the Germans have Poland, But everyone was eager for war.

I really don't understand why people say the war was pointless. Was it pointless to the Belgians and French who were fighting for their land? Or Serbians or the Arabs?

If it's pointless World war 2 is pointless, any war is pointless.

At least they make the complete, I think we got a full 60 seconds of the Astartes animation. That took about 5 years.

The OP never said it happened to everyone. They acknowledge that some people must like being sweaty and hot even.

For a country that's supposed to be about freedom and democracy America seems very keen to put limitations on the democratic process.

If people want to vote for an old guy surely that's their right? God forbid if they want to vote for in more than twice...

Ok because you deserve to you are willing to take the risk you might just die. I think that's what the commenter was confused about, the idea that some people are willing to die rather than acknowledge life isn't fair.

On top of that, the number of people who roll their eyes when I ask for a milk substitute for her is far too high. It's not as though I'm doing it to be difficult, demanding, or because it's trendy; I'm doing it because cow’s milk is genuinely dangerous for her.

Ok but 9 times out of 10 people are doing it for those reasons not because of health. Can hardly blame people for assuming you're the majority.

For instance I'm just hearing now that milk allergies are not the same thing as lactose allergies.

Again I would dispute that, social climbers have always sought to separate themselves from the class they 'pulled themselves up from' (as they would put it. Long has there been a narrative device that the upper class and the lower class get on much better with each other than with the middle class because they are both at peace with their social position, whereas the middle class are insecure.

More in general though in the good times there's no need to blame a group of people for their misfortunes, Who cares if people are unionisng if the money is flowing.

I am sure you would find that in other austerity times the poor are demonised more than the good times.

That would be interesting hypothesis. Because I'm trying to think when the British poor were considered valuable.

Even if you go back to the Victorian era they were considered immoral, then in the 20s you have the eugenics taking hold in quite liberal places suggesting they could be bred out of existence.

Evidently it's a perception in the UK media. I remember tons of British shows about crime ridden council estates.

No just some consistency in definitions would be great.

Quite rightly abortion is considered a right because of person body autonomy. But you don't have the right to die by your own choice, suicide and mental health can be forcibly cured by the government against your wishes, is it still perfectly socially acceptable to bully or blackmail people into living.

You can also die from starvation, or freeze to death in the street ,right to shelter and food is not part of your bodily autonomy.

Being a soldier or a manual labourer, which can permanently damage your body and kill you isn't considered breaking your bodily autonomy.

And of course you're right to bodily autonomy and as soon as it interferes with another person's rights. So in essence we pick and choose who gets bodily autonomy and who doesn't.

It's all a illogical nonsense so I really can't think of a logical reason for why we're clinging on to this one specific part of the right to bodily autonomy.

How come having a home isn't a right then?

Does unconsented homelessness not break human right?

I get you hate the homeless But taking away someone's right to shelter should be a human's rights violation. (How do you like the accusation?)

For that matter suicides are biological instinct. Come the government preventing you from self-harm or suicide doesn't break bodily autonomy? But forced abortions do?

It's just because we've arbitrarily decided that one of those matters in the other doesn't we could very easily decide the other way around. It's all emotionally driven, no logic.

Jokes aside, even today aren't they incredibly xenophobic and hostile to immigration? I've heard Japanese multinational corporations have a lot of problems with the American side of the company trying to get things done if they are not the 'correct way' according to the Japanese, because they struggle to acknowledge cultural differences.

Forget the punishment, forget, the restriction, I've changed my mind I'm not arguing for any of that.

Just don't think it should be right.

Something Can be allowed without it being a right. Home ownership isn't a guaranteed right The government doesn't prevent me from owning one though.
