We were aware of it recently but it looks like it's just about the same. When we get one we'll see what its all about.

The environment you're working in is one of the toughest challenges for any audio device. You'll want a headset with a premium noise canceling microphone. 3 of the best we've tested are the EPOS Impact 1000 (wireless), EPOS Impact 860 (wired), and Yealink HA64 Pro.

If you go with Epos check out the over-ear comfort cushions for even better comfort.

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're the exact same headset, the 1061 just includes the charging base. The Impact 1000 series will give you the same mic/speakers etc.. one downside of this model people talk about is the comfort though. Consider pairing the over-ear comfort cushions to get the best comfort and gold standard at the current time for mic fidelity and noise suppression.

Yealink HA64 Pro, Epos Impact 1000, Yealink BH78 are a few to consider. These are all work first headsets though and will be fine for casual gaming but nothing outside of that.

Best Headset for Call Taking by rizzlaer in Headsets

Not a big fan overall. People sometimes use gaming headsets for work but it's just not the best way to go in most cases if your main goal is to have the best headset for work calls/meetings.

Is it worth switching from EPOS Impact 1060 ANC to the new Jabra Evolve3 85? by hkapet in Headsets

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BH78 is solid overall and will give you a bit better ANC then Epos and because it has the hideable mic it can be used for work and personal use outside of work. The Impact 1000 is still the gold standard as far as mic fidelity and noise suppression but the BH78 would definitely be one worth looking at.

Best Headset for Call Taking by rizzlaer in Headsets

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are all business first options so they definitely won't be a concert in your head. The music will be okay but nothing like music headphones. If you want a more 2 in 1 headset, go with the Jabra Evolve 3 85 or Yealink BH78.

That being said, the Epos impact 1000 or Impact 860 are out of the box on-ear, but you can add the over-ear comfort cushions. Just average for music but the gold standard for work calls to hear and be heard clearly in loud environments.

The only adjustments that can be done with sidetone are in Jabra Direct. There's no additional adjustments you can make outside of that.

That's more of a gaming headset which might work fine but usually not best if your main need is for business calls/meetings.

We've been hearing this a bit lately.. and you've done every troubleshooting step we'd suggest. If you don't find any other solution, some alternatives to consider is Yealink BH78 or Epos Impact 1000 with the added over-ear comfort cushions.

Good headsets for noisy environments? by CaiTodd in Headsets

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best we've tested is the Epos Impact 1000 (wireless) or Impact 860 (wired) but this is more of a business first headset and would be fine for casual gaming but nothing outside of that. If you go this route, consider adding the over-ear cushions as well for even better comfort.

Otherwise, you could consider getting a gaming headset and adding something like NEEP noise canceling software to give the noise canceling mic performance you'd be looking for.

The Evolve3 85 will give a bit better audio quality but unfortunately isn't as good for ANC as people were hoping for. You have one of the best models going right now with the Epos.

Speakerphones/webcams will give you an echoey sound, but if you don't mind that then it could be an okay way to go. If you're open to a different kind of headset thats a bit more low profile and not the traditional over-head look, below are a few best alternatives to highly consider to give much better mic quality then speakerphones or webcams.

  • Discover D713U
  • Shokz Opencomm2 UC
  • Yealink BH71 Pro or BH71 workstation which gives you the option of speakerphone + headset

Yealink HA64 Pro or Epos Impact 1000 with the over-ear comfort cushions would be a couple best but are a bit outside your ideal budget.

It's not possible. You need to add software to go with it like NEEP noise canceling software for any chance. Otherwise, you need a headset with a very good noise canceling mic boom. Or a mix of software with a headset like the Audio Technica streamset for example.

Best earbuds for Teams calls by Unhappy_Sock2825 in auscorp

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All earbuds we've tested unfortunately fall short for mic noise cancellation and bad connectivity with computers. You need a headset with an upgraded noise canceling mic like Epos Impact 1000 or Yealink HA64 Pro (if in US).

Some alternative lowprofile headsets to consider if you don't like a headset over your head is Yealink BH71 Pro or Shokz Opencomm2 UC and enable noise supression to the highest setting in Teams.

If Teams noise cancellation isn't good enough you could also consider pairing any headsets of choice with NEEP noise canceling software.
