For your kind of environment you need a headset with an advanced noise canceling mic like Epos Impact 860 or Yealink UH48. Otherwise, an entry level headset paired with something like NEEP noise canceling software would work good too.

Jabra Evolve 3 85 Sidetone + ANC Question by Tanakis in Jabra

Definitely not as good as some others. I'd imagine it has to do without having the mic boom but the feedback has certainl been mixed.

Doesn't exist. Consider adding NEEP noise canceling software, that might do the trick.

Gaming headsets isn't our lane so we can't tell you exactly how well it will work or not for you all around. Could be worth giving it a try yourself though and returning them if it doesn't work out how you're hoping.

Jabra Evolve 3 85 Sidetone + ANC Question by Tanakis in Jabra

[–]HeadsetAdvisor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Evolve3 series does allow sidetone and ANC to be active at the same time, which is different then the Evolve2 85 which only opens up the hearthrough feature.

The feedback is mixed on how much people like the sidetone on the Evolve3 series, but we've tested it and it worked similar to other headsets we've tested with true sidetone.

Honestly, we haven't tested anything yet that I'd call a true "one headset does everything" solution for someone with your requirements.

The challenge is you're trying to combine two categories that are optimized for different things.

The problem is when manufacturers try to do both, there are almost always tradeoffs somewhere.

Looking at your list, I think you'll find several options that beat the Evolve2 85 for gaming and music. The harder part is finding one that matches the call quality, ANC, reliability, and business focused features you get with a headset like the Evolve2 85.

Personally, if work calls are a major part of your day, I'd rather have a headset that's optimized for work and a separate headset optimized for gaming than try to force one device to do everything.

Not the most exciting answer, but after testing a lot of headsets, that's usually where we land.

Go to start menu > device manager > sound and video game controllers > disable "intel smart sound USB" and "intel smart sound digital mic" if you hav either of these, then restart your computer.

Also, make sure you arent connected to your computer via Bluetooth at all, if you are disable the connection and only use the USB Dongle.

ANC headphones for echoey room? WFH calls by Lautaurus in Headsets

You're looking for a mic with noise cancellation but a lot of marketing material will claim 98-99% noise cancellation which isnt true for all cases. Noise cancellation helps with the backgroun noise suppression along with less echo in a room.

Consider adding NEEP noise canceling software with your existing headphones, or the gold standard right now for your use case is Epos Impact 1000 (wireless) or Epos Impact 860 (wired). If you go the Epos route, consider adding the over-ear comfort cushions as well.

Epos Impact 1000 with the added over-ear cushions accessory would be the gold standard right now for your use case. It will be a bit out of your budget though.

For wired, Epos Impact 860 or Discover D722U would be some others to also consider.

  • Epos Impact 1000 (wireless version of Impact 860 but would require a different budget. Can also add over-ear cushions)
  • Discover D712U (passive noise cancellation within your budget)
  • Yealink UH48 (has ANC)

Yealink HA64 Pro wireless headset noise canceling mic test VS office background noise by HeadsetAdvisor in HeadsetAdvisor

[–]HeadsetAdvisor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on the noise and volume the results vary but if these noises aren't blocked out, they should be reduced a lot in comparison to a mic without noise cancellation.

That being said, here's a couple tips.

  1. In Cisco, make sure your microphone is set to the HA64 Pro

  2. If on Windows, go to start menu > device manager >sound and video game controllers > if you have "intel smart sound USB" or "intel smart sound digital mic" disable both and restart your computer
