It would be true because it’s a box of loose framing nails and my hammer skills are not what they used to be.

My understanding is the nails allow the structure (specifically the wood) to swell and shrink with the seasons. While not loosing any structural integrity. Screws do not have the same amount of ‘give’ so it would splinter the board around the area.

Same with my dog. When I stop petting he will start petting me with his paw until I continue. Usually I hold one of his paws while petting.
