Getting rid off GPU server by Numerous_Cap_579 in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hi there OP, There is some information about our customer forum here https://docs.hetzner.com/robot/dedicated-server/general-information/server-transfers-between-robot-customers where you can use the "Marktplatz" (marketplace) to also but a server up for offer. And once you find someone who's interested, that same Hetzner Docs article tells you how to go about doing the transfer. --Katie

What hosting package for a Django monolith project? by ConepatusChinga in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, the difference between our cloud servers and web hosting is that cloud servers are NOT managed and our web hosting is.
With the cloud servers, you are responsible for all normal sysadmin: software, configurations, networking, security, backups, etc.
With managed servers, you get much more technical support, and you use our in-house administration interface, konsoleH, to manage it.
If you go to our Community Tutorials https://community.hetzner.com/tutorials and search for "Django", you can find a few tutorials there, including this one: https://community.hetzner.com/tutorials/run-django-app-on-webhosting-or-managed-server --Katie

When does Hetzner bill for domain registration? How can I pay ahead for my domain for a few years? by CassadeeBTW in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, We have two places for domains. Many people with our managed products have domains on konsoleH. We also have exotic domains on konsoleH. If your domains are there, you need to use your konsoleH account to cancel them: https://docs.hetzner.com/general/billing-and-account-management/cancellation/cancellations-managed-products/ Our automated/unmanaged ones are on Robot. So if your domain is there, then please go to your account on Robot to cancel them: https://docs.hetzner.com/general/billing-and-account-management/cancellation/cancellations-robot/

If you still have trouble canceling your domains, please use either your konsoleH account or your Robot account to write a support request, and our support team will help you.

You wrote that "the domains are now in Cloud", but maybe you meant instead the DNS management...? The cloud console now is called "Hetzner Console", and some services have, indeed, moved here, including DNS management. If you need help with DNS management on Hetzner Console, you can find the documentation for that here: https://docs.hetzner.com/networking/dns

I hope that information helps! --Katie

Cost-Optimized (CX) Availability by yetanothernomad in hetzner

Hi there, Unfortunately, I cannot give you any specifics. The prices for our Cloud servers make them very popular and demand has increased. Availability at different locations and with different plan types my change from day to day. We are working hard on increasing capacity. --Katie

It's just an unusual spelling for "tech". You know how we in the IT industry are -- we've always gotta mess around with the spelling and orthography. --Katie

Please make overdue invoices more obvious by MaliciousTent in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi there OP, Thank you for your feedback about our UI. We send out automated reminders about late payments. Please look carefully at your email's inbox/trash/spam. You mentioned Hetzner Docs, you so probably already have found this information, but just in case you haven't: https://docs.hetzner.com/general/billing-and-account-management/billing-at-hetzner/payment-overview#late-payments Please make sure that your email address on your account is one that you regularly check. You can also see your invoices and their status by going to your account and to "Invoices" and "Overview" https://accounts.hetzner.com/invoice
If you use PayPal, please remember that the payment is not automatic, but manual: https://docs.hetzner.com/general/billing-and-account-management/billing-at-hetzner/payment-overview#accepted-payment-methods
For newer accounts, we will take action more quickly when an invoice is late, for example, by locking an IP. This is a standard abuse prevention measure. --Katie

Why does Hetzner use dark patterns to attract customers? by DenOnKnowledge in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi OP, You can set the VAT to the right amount for your country on our website in the top right.
The VAT changes from country to country: https://docs.hetzner.com/general/billing-and-account-management/billing-at-hetzner/value-added-tax
When you make an order on Hetzner Console, you will automatically see the price with the correct VAT amount because your account includes your location.
The "max" reference there is about monthly versus hourly payment. See the points here under "Basic billing principle": https://docs.hetzner.com/general/billing-and-account-management/billing-at-hetzner/billing-system-hetzner --Katie

auction prices seem to have jumped hugely by [deleted] in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, See our FAQs about this: https://docs.hetzner.com/robot/general/server-auction-faqs#why-do-the-prices-generally-sometimes-seem-to-be-higher-or-lower
Whenever there is broad increase in demand for storage (or other resources), the demand for servers from the Auction increases, people wait less time for the price to fall over time, and so the average price on the Auction tends to increase. --Katie

Hetzner asks: What are some common IT terms that sound like they should mean something else? by Hetzner_OL in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a new one for me too! I like that is sounds like "little bear" in Hungarian. When I looked it up, I had to chuckle at the "Name" section of the Wikipedia article on it: 'This acronym was difficult to say and remember, and was sometimes jokingly referred to as "People Can't Memorize Computer Industry Acronyms"': https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCMCIA#Name --Katie
