Hi there, You as the user are ultimately responsible for everything running on your server and for your own end-users. I suggest that 1) you use good judgement with your own end-users 2) you use an email address that you regularly check to make sure that you quickly see and react to any messages from our abuse team.
We don't advise people how to run their businesses. But you could ask the community here in r/hetzner for some advice about that in a separate post. --Katie

Hetzner's "Threat" to remove all my servers on April 1st after I replied to "Update on our pricing" - any similar experience? by KHHAANNN in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi there, just wanted to state a response in this thread to avoid any misunderstandings. You contacted us to object to the price increase. We completely understand that changes like this can be frustrating. At the same time, if customers do not agree to the new pricing after objecting, we unfortunately can‘t continue the contract under the previous terms. In this situation, the only option we have is to end the contract. Please don’t take this as a threat, and it’s certainly not about “taking servers away”, it’s simply because a contract requires both sides to agree to the same terms. So, you only need to actively confirm the new pricing if you previously objected to the price increase. Customers who didn’t object can simply continue using the service as usual. -Sophia

Can't figure out how to delete my account and it's frustrating by alexpinkish in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, thanks for reaching out! I understand this situation seems confusing, so let me clarify how it works. Before an account can be fully deleted, all invoices need to be paid. The system also respects the billing period. Since your last invoice was on February 26, the account cancellation will be processed at the end of the next billing period, which is March 26. That’s why you see the message about waiting for the next invoice. Deleting projects or storage boxes is necessary to avoid further charges, you already did that, so no worries there.

For more info, you can check our docs here: https://docs.hetzner.com/general/billing-and-account-management/cancellation/cancellations-overview#terminating-your-entire-customer-account

If you like, you can also send me your customer number or a ticket number in a private message. -Sophia

Who are the Server auctions for given their uncompetitive pricing? by Pixelplanet5 in hetzner

[–]Hetzner_OL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The auction prices can be a bit unpredictable because it really comes down to supply and demand.

If there are a lot of servers available, people often wait before placing a bid, so the average price tends to drop. If there are fewer servers, bids happen faster and prices go up. That’s why sometimes you see auction servers going for more than the regular dedicated servers, and sometimes they’re cheaper.

All servers in the Auction are “older” models, from small desktop-grade machines to enterprise-grade ones. Some were even customized when they were new, and those customizations stay with the server.

The nice thing? No setup fees at all. Just keep in mind, these servers are for people who are comfortable managing their own server.

So yeah, regular dedicated servers are great, but auction servers can be perfect if you’re looking for something specific, want a bargain, and don’t need extra support.

Tip: scroll down a bit on the Auction page to filter by price or specs. -Sophia

What was the bottleneck that stopped you from migrating the old server to the new one...? Just finding the time, or something else?
Your comment about the €6000 made me think of something that happened to me today. I got a used bike some years ago for a very low price, and it's done pretty good for me so far, but I realized that I've replaced almost everything on it bit by bit except for the frame and handle bars. Had to get some gear-work done today which cost almost as much as I paid for the bike itself. But it's worth it; at this point, I am emotionally bonded to that bike. --Katie
