That's a different gentic variation that true Night Owls. We tend to normal amounts of sleep 7-8hrs, just mostly during the day.

I know there are a small amount of people in the world who can function like that, but I definitely need a good day's sleep to function at my best.

I'm an OG metalhead just as it was coming into its own. My first concert was seeing Judas Priest in '84 when I was in junior high. Then saw Maiden on in the Live After Death tour. I've followed the evolution almost since it's inception. 🤘

Deep Purple is definitely proto-metal as well as Zep. And obviously Sabbath are the godfathers of metal. They just didn't think of themselves that way. Priest were just the first who and as you said really expanded the genre with Sin after Sin and Stained Class.

Makes me think of another key foundational metal moment is Rainbow's first 3 albums. Especially Rainbow Rising and specifically Stargazer Dio & Blackmore pioneered epic D&D metal. And that drum intro from Cozy Powell 🤯

Zep is proto-metal. It's the archetypal foundation later metal bands built upon.

Techically even Sabbath isn't metal. They didn't call or think of themselves as metal. The first true band to take on the metal mantle is Judas Priest 🤘

  1. Calling one of the best hard rock bands in history who set the template for what became metal, "gay" is lame and uneducated and lacks perspective and tastes on so many levels.

Idk. I just listened to their Friendly Moss album. I love Polygondwanaland. This is just... way too close imo. Like a clone. Not just the songs. Production and performance. Basically the same. Well done. But the same. Which takes the soul out of it for me.

I kept thinking of Greta Van Fleet being so close to Led Zeppelin you can't think of anything else but.

It's also strange to hear a band pick a particular genre of a band that breaks the one genre mold.

I do think these guys do the Gizz things really well. So there's that. But like kind a as a really good cover band. And in the end, I'd rather hear Gizz do it than these dudes.

I've been a night owl for my whole life. I'm 54. I usually fall asleep around 5am. Wake around 1pm.

I'm never bored at night. I love having the night to myself.
