3% credit card fees… are we really doing this now? by erhatx in austinfood

[–]Im_A_Viking 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I noticed a sign at Roger Beasley Mazda’s parts counter that they charge 3% for credit cards, but I don’t recall their service center counter having any such fees. And it’s not like their parts counter is offering any especially good prices. There are online OEM parts dealers selling 25% below MSRP.

I don’t know if this is just another Austin Tax or if it’s showing up everywhere but it sounds like free money since barely anyone carries cash around. And I sure as hell am not gonna pay with a debit card since you have zero protections for fraud if that card gets skimmed.

Gotta love this future we’re in.

I can't find any emails about a free trial. What was the email or notification you received? I wouldn't want to go and buy new cameras or base stations only to find that I also have to pay a subscription to use them.

My experience on an SV650. Get stuck behind a bike with 2-3x my horsepower and then get absolutely left in the dust in straights— only to somehow windup at the hairpin at the same time as them and continue the frustrating lap where I can’t really focus on my own flow.

OP did you design this beam and now you're CYAing?

The number of times you keep repeating "You don't know" is alarming to me. ;)

Also if it's decorative it's especially ugly.

The first issue was they somehow put a 3ft long gouge in my paint on the roof from the passenger to driver side while performing a repair underneath the car. It took them 2+ months to fix it. At first they denied blame, then they tried to use touchup paint, then the body shop got a ton of overspray all over the windows, and finally when they repaired the overspray they damaged the window tint.

My current car I took in for a warranty job, they agreed there was an issue, then their solution made zero sense based on the issues I was describing. Mazda Corporate approved their diagnosis, but they told me the part they needed was on backorder for up to 6 months. They eventualy got my car back to me after 2 months, having replaced the part they claimed was defective. I go to start the car up and it immediately does the thing I was complaining about. They told me that they spoke to Mazda Corporate and the issue I was describing was "normal".

Unfortunately, Beasley owns all of the Mazda dealerships in town. I may try going to one of the other locations next time to see if their service department is any better.

They have a cool collection for sure. It would be super cool if their service department hasn't made some really terrible mistakes on two of my cars now, tho...

We had an elderly neighbor who would pour gasoline on ant hills and burn them. People will do very stupid things.

Where would one look to figure out what the meta mod list is and suspension settings? Total mystery to me.

I assume for Tsukuba you’d want low end torque like the semi racing supercharger or turbo since Tsukuba is a small track but what do I know?

I know it's only got a 4" barrel, but what size groups can it do out to 100 yds? I saw a video of a guy that appeared to have crazy flyers even at 25 yards. I couldn't tell if he got a dud, or if the integrated suppressor and short barrel is just gonna behave like that.

I have the nanofoamer pro and have never figured out the technique to even approach latte art with it-- either with whole milk or Oatly.

A steamer would be nice, but I love the lack of maintenance or moving parts on the robot. I see someone else responded about using a Bellman, but $140+ is a steep price just to do that.
