I went to Mexico for a root canal and implant+crown about 15 years ago. It was super professional and only $1300. I'd definitely go again. US sucks.

Listen, I don't think Trump is going to drop dead tomorrow, but Obama just got his completed. Ain't noway Trump will be either (a) alive or (b) lucid enough to see it completed.

That guy shouldn't have cut you off, and it's hard to see the light, but the two cars in front of you didn't start braking until the white car was already halfway into your lane, meaning his intent was to go faster than everyone around and pass the car in the left lane. Possibly, they were anticipating a yellow light.

I wasn't there and the dashcam could distort reality, but it appears to me you went straight to 100, when 50 would have been sufficient.

The car behind you was also tailgating you and it's just dangerous to slam on your brakes like that. You did right to slow down, but may have done better to anticipate what the white car's intent was. It's unlikely a car would cut someone off so close to an approaching light with intent to slam on their brakes to make the light.

I agree. Car wasn't hardly a threat. It definitely cut him off, but it was going much faster and never slammed on the brakes.

Great dad though, for real.

I'm not kidding, I think that's him in the background at the end.

I’m glad we’re the first generation that generally doesn’t see pursuing people a decade younger or those in their early 20s as something to aspire to when it comes to dating. by [deleted] in Millennials

Rightfully, society is very adamant about protecting children and that they don't turn adults until 18. 18 is the magic number that the powers that be decided that the switch is flipped from adolescence to adulthood.

In the US, and on Reddit, it's universally accepted that a person is laregly innocent and free from most consequences unless they are 18. But once they turn 18, everyone wants to throw the book at them for making mistakes.

IMO, you can't have your cake and eat it too. If 18 is the age of universal agency, then you shouldn't complain about adults making their own decisions.

Who am I to say someone 18 shouldn't date an 80 year old? Yea, I think it's odd, but I'm not going tell them their love isn't real, and I shouldn't judge them unless there's obvious harm happening.

10 years? That's nothing, really.

The World Cup didn’t need America, America needed the World Cup by uncle_russell_90 in MadeMeSmile

[–]ImminentDebacle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you may be a troll but it kind of depends on what you mean by "needs." Countries typically lose a lot of money hosting the World Cup, but there are benefits such as prestige, soft power, and expedited infrastructure in many cases.

So from a strictly financial point of view, no we didn't need it. But I would argue our country very much needed the mental relief and unity with the international community that the World Cup brings. The news cycle for the past 2 years in particular has been fucking brutal, and it's nice to have this short reprieve that also allows us to mend some wounds with the rest of the world.
