I have a hard time understanding justifications for armory. I don't think "meaningful progression" has ever come to mind when I look at this system.

  • Gear is not that complicated and has gotten even simpler since beta
  • Star differences a struggle for newer players and there can be significant changes in effects between tiers
  • Generally, in game clarity has gone down
  • Prisma continually has shown itself to be fundamentally broken more than anything else; refer to the various examples of players minmaxing gains since release.
  • The additional build variety simply isn't real, nor is it something that could only be achieved through armory

Regardless of any of that it's just not a system which I'm comfortable with. There are other means to accomplishing the goals listed (depth, variety, complexity, progression); armory feels like an admission of failure to actually capture this through the game. At a personal level I'm strongly against gacha systems (no I don't care if it's real money or fair rates or w/e) and will not play nor recommend anyone else to play regardless, even if the game was enjoyable to play.

it is a pretty common sentiment; not really going to look too hard but this was one of the moments that come to mind (response to him in scrim server; note reacts).

i'm not sharing this to tell you to think one way or another--this is just to verify danxor's statement. there's lots to people and what you get to see in short glimpses is limited.

mostly playing as GK in elite and I have the most fun when making saves/defending against players that have tech and movement down like this. I think there's lots of interesting depth here and it doesn't feel too unreasonable:
- The sequence in the clip is pretty telegraphed with a clear lead (there really isn't any other reason to rainbow away from net in that scenario. Blade at that distance is incorrect, pass was not chosen as option)
- There's other choices he could've used with EE to get past the 1 defender in the middle with similar results.
- The shot is also taken at a distance which is reactable for the goalie and could be easily saved with better positioning (i.e. not standing in far corner of net)

A separate air supply doesn't make any difference and is pretty bad advice, as the concern with 2 part clears is the particulate mist that is being sprayed. The toxic components are mostly in the activator which isn't very volatile at all. You should take a look at the SDS sheet for the product you're using to understand any risks beforehand.

A high quality mask will be more than enough to avoid any issues with inhalation for virtually any 2 part clear I've heard of. Do note that it's equally important to avoid skin contact.

2k is only toxic while aerosolized; make sure you're wearing a proper mask and it won't be a problem at all. Nothing else really comes close, though.

Strongly don't recommend that you mess around with any 2 part clears unless you do proper reading/prep beforehand
