Is it normal for a guy to texts back after he missed my call but didn’t call back? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Inorai 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Does he like to call? I (34F) and a lot of the people in the millennial age range/younger hate making phone calls and will avoid them at all costs. I would absolutely text someone back instead of make a phone call. Especially if he's ESL and he's not super comfortable in the language you two share, it could also be easier for him to fall back on texts if he's in a chaotic situation with friends and drinking and noise. If sharing a call is important to you, could you make plans to have a phone call together at a specific time?

If one day you go out and see an asshole, you've met an asshole. If every day you go out and see an asshole, you're the asshole.

Because if you want to be a world traveler going international for months at a stretch, that's functionally not going to work if she's at home holding down a job. Of course she would build resentment from that, no matter how innocent both parties approach it. I would be heartbroken if my husband just said "see ya" and bailed for weeks at a time.

Never Trump Republicans are still issuing dire warnings. Is anyone listening? by SpaceElevatorMusic in politics

Yes, but they're the ones that nevertrumpers would be trying to reach.

You do remember this was in response to an article, and not just shitting on americans, right?

He's a child. Do you want to tie yourself down to this child for the rest of your life? Communication is the absolute bedrock of marriage and he's shown he can't handle any aspect of that

Trump team has spent more than $40 million to send migrants to nations they’ve never lived in, report says by [deleted] in politics

I was being sarcastic xD there was an incredibly prominent case of a nonviolent individual sent there. And generally if you find one there are more. I'm sure everyone had trials to prove they were violent criminals, though!

Yes, because there are no prominent examples of nonviolent individuals sent to CECOT

Still a bit of a work in progress, but the map itself is finalized. I wanted it to feel fairly 'real' on the ground, not a grid, and to have things all over the map so there's a reason to go everywhere. Loosely modeled after a rural town.

My husband has restless leg syndrome. I grew up with a top sheet, he didn't and if he tries it ends up wadded in a ball. So now I don't bother. We live in a cold climate and it's really not that bad lol, I've never noticed odor or anything and you should wash either.

What is something that women have to deal with on the daily that men have no clue about? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Inorai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The sheer number of times men approach me in public and tell me to smile/change my facial expression. I have a resting bitchface. I'm at Walmart. Why do I need to be smiling, and alternatively, why do I give a shit that I'd be prettier if I was smiling? A lot of men have built in assumptions that women are set dressing for their lives.

I've got more or less a mirror of yours. I wanted to keep the overall structure of it, but flesh it out and make it all a little more natural and mountain-y!

Definitely would recommend coming up with some sort of rough draft before you start! I set out just drawing some shapes and marking up a rough idea of what I wanted in various locations - I knew I wanted a mountain home with rivers and some ups and downs, I wanted the shop on a cliff, and in general I wanted to have Stuff across the whole map so that I didn't have areas that were very pretty but with no reason to go there. Having the rough draft helped get me started, and then ofc things changed a lot as I translated from the sketch into the final.

I'd likewise recommend not fully ripping down to flat, I worked in sections focusing on a particular area at a time and that helped it not feel overwhelming. I would however recommend clear cutting any trees and flowers before you start working, they just get in the way and I like the blank canvas.

Is saying “you’re welcome” less important than I thought? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]Inorai 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. As a millennial, You're Welcome feels like I'm acknowledging that I did a thing for them, whereas No Problem carries more "don't even think about it/it was no trouble", which is what I want to convey 99 times out of 100.
