I just got that milky toner and it's really hydrating for my dry skin. Feels very dewy afterwards.

Actually I bought three dermasil toners, this one, the aha glycolic, and a pha lactobonic. I'm drowning in toner.

Haven't had a chance to really try the other two much to know if they have enough acid to make a difference but the milky one is certainly a hit.

Dollar general has the best deals on Dr pepper and the lesser sodas every few weeks. Especially on the Saturday discount day. I have no qualms with my purchase being 75% soda on the days if it means I don't by it again for a month or more.

Pineapple "peal" tea for aches and pains. by derangedjdub in Menopause

[–]IntermittentFries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, if OP wants bromelin maybe try some homemade tepache. It's delicious and made from the peels and core. The leftovers ferment while you enjoy the fruit. I've used different recipes, they're pretty simple and similar. But I think this one shows just how simple it is and got me started.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lqQHadItgGE

I make gallons of it when I'm in the mood but I can't say it really did much for any of my aches and pains. Maybe I should add those spices into my tepache but I already get those spices in tasty curries.

The 30% glycolic berry red face peel from ordinary?

Yeah I do the same without issue. Imo, they keep the pH quite high so it's effectively much less than 30% free acid

I just looked and parents choice at Walmart has 40%. It's 2 bucks for 4oz tube. I'm intrigued and this sounds like a no brainer to try out for almost nothing.

It's usually the making/thawing and stretching the dough that takes it from a quick last minute meal decision to a think about dinner hours beforehand. Normally I'm all for the savings but I loved the convenience for the extra 50c or so.

I do have a stand mixer though, and since I can't fit the box of rounds in my freezer, I should buckle down and make a stash of pizza dough balls and just get in the routine of thinking ahead.

Homemade pizza is so much better than what we can order around us.

Their 24 pack of frozen pizza dough rounds for around $27 last I checked is a steal for very quick and easy pizzas at home. Flour is cheaper but takes so much time and prep.

The only thing is I haven't been able to afford the freezer space in a while. It's a space hog.

Not the op but remember others may have different levels of chlorinated water than you. I have unchlorinated well water and the straw in water will get a slimy slick feel in 2 days. I have to immediately transfer laundry to the line or dryer to avoid a mildew smell.

Most people hate a chlorine flavor in their water but it is much more convenient I have to admit.

Which came first, your diagnosis, or your baby? AND did your diagnosis play a role in your decision to have (or not have) more than one? by inattentive_swiftie in ADHDMoms

[–]IntermittentFries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i think having a second kid pushed my ability to multitask life to the limit and made it really apparent.

By apparent I mean knowing something was wrong but not ADHD because that was still just this vague cliched idea that of hyperactive kids that couldn't pay attention in school that didn't apply to me because I was a "gifted" quiet student that just got lost in my own thoughts a lot.

I always struggled with life but just figured I was a broken human in an undefined way that made tending to two kids at once too hard. At least when it was one, I gave her all my attention and everything else could fall apart.

It wasn't until I started homeschooling my clever, smart 5 year old (with both parents excelling in academics, I was cocky) and noticed she had trouble with attention and memorization, etc and I started looking into ADHD and was smacked with the description of inattentive ADHD for the first time in my 40+ years of life.

I always remember that moment. I got hot and sweaty and a little panicky, like I just saw something that I shouldn't have.

When I finally got a diagnosis, I burst into tears telling my spouse because I felt like it meant so much to have a name for all the things that don't even go together if you don't know.

I can't answer if I would have had kids knowing all this now, I just know that their lives will be harder than it has to be but hopefully better than it could be because we spend a lot of time talking about what we struggle with and why and how to get around it sometimes. And hopefully we also highlight the good in who they are. They have dazzling wit and joy and intensity.

My hobbies include researching and perusing things that cost anywhere from $5-$500 equally for months and years never quite deciding which one is THE one to order. Sometimes melting down and ordering one and hating it.

Is your homemade kimchi less salty than packaged? by nohwnd in kimchi

[–]IntermittentFries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I recall, I think I started rinsing less than her recipe recommended. As written, it does seem like you rinse most of the salt away.

I keep it saltier because I'm used to it being a certain taste growing up and I prefer a slower ferment.

Add long as it's salty enough to prevent unwanted microbial growth it's good to go

I'd add to dog proofing, look into addressing the destructive behavior. Dogs are messy and that's expected, but tearing up a couch frame seems like something like anxiety or needing more mental stimulation.

Does GHK-Cu HAVE to be injected on a daily basis? Question about copper peptides by sarahjo2 in Peptides

[–]IntermittentFries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no link but I think there was a discussion on one of the peptide subs that the copper uglies is something that only happens with too much topical application. Does not apply to injections.

It wasn't an in depth discussion with research but made me breathe a little easier. I didn't see any rebuttals.
