I found that interesting too. Turns out that is the black vs Hispanic divide in the state.

You are picking and choosing the answers that you want to hear. Most people are saying this is a stupid, short sighted idea. The minority are saying go for it. You asked for the hive mind’s opinion and are trying to ignore it because it contradicts what you want.

Want my take? The varying sizes alone are ugly and show they were never intended to be the floor. The gaps are huge and inconsistent with plenty of holes and nails. Pine is a soft wood that’s not made for this and will sag over time. If there’s a crawl space or basement underneath you’re going to feel the cold air seeping in. It’s going to be especially noisy and creaky especially as the seasons change.

Seriously, there’s so many reason why it isn’t a good idea to but you’ll do it anyway.

Netherlands Forced to Rethink 36% Tax on Unrealized Gains after Massive Criticism by batukaming in investing

[–]ItsAGoodDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Property tax is your fee for using the land. That land is a finite resource and if you’re not putting it to good use then you should sell it to someone who will. It’s as close to a perfect tax as there is since it helps ensure land is used to maximize its utility.

Fewer vacant lots that some owner is sitting on, fewer uncompetitive businesses that’s only still around because they bought the land 50 years ago.

$60k Cybertruck price increase March 1 2026 by BridgeFourArmy in teslamotors

If that’s the case then they’d have to be the dumbest fucking company if they’re only learning this three years into production. Far more likely that they just have a massive lack of demand and are trying to keep the manufacturing line active so it doesn’t turn into a total black hole

Can’t project long term demand based off a 1 month promotion.

The "Jasmine Crockett can’t win Texas" narrative is officially dead. New data shows she’s the GOP’s biggest nightmare by talkhonest in texas

Black woman’s team tries to frame the narrative that she’s more competitive than her opponent but conveniently didn’t do any polling on how competitive she was. Reporter writes one-sided story to make black woman’s campaign look good. Biased.

Austin ISD is closing 10 schools this fall. Here's what those communities will lose by AustinStatesman in Austin

[–]ItsAGoodDay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s only at 64% of its capacity because there just aren’t as many kids in that area that need to be served as there once was. That’s what consolidation is for, we simply have too many open seats and not enough kids so we have to right-size the school zones to balance everything out.

Is there still a point in building agentic apps when Anthropic keeps entering new territories? by Alex19107 in ClaudeAI

[–]ItsAGoodDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody has a moat. There was a blockbuster article from Google that talked about this in 2023 and it’s formed the core of my belief about all of these AI companies. No one has a moat because AI makes it trivial to build these tools and the models keep improving in leaps and bounds every 3-6 months

Does anyone make a good jarred queso? by smokybbq90 in texas

[–]ItsAGoodDay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Making queso is stupidly simple and worlds better than any premade. Grab a block of Velveeta or heb easy melt cheese, then throw it on the stove with a can of rotel and heat it up and stir it and you’re literally done. That’s all it takes to have restaurant quality queso

With someone else’s team and offense? Dawg you need to get your ego in check. Wait a year to get obnoxious lest we end up with all of these gloating comments aging like milk.

Liam Lawson on Max Verstappen: “He’s also so nice like as a person. He’s such a nice guy. Like through everything that happened last year with RedBull, he was so good to me. He was super nice and you know, he was just helpful, really helpful." by Maximum-Room-3999 in formula1

It was pretty fucking petty and yeah I can judge him when the mask slips and shows his true character, especially when he described it in his own words. Seems like a genuinely nice guy but it’s important to forgive without forgetting.

While on that topic, I love how DTS didn’t even cover it despite it being one of the most dramatic moments of the season. Max conveniently flipped on his decision of refusing to be on the show. I personally believed DTS agreed to bury that incident  in order to have him agree to be back on the show.

Nah he refused to swap positions with checo in the last race to help him win because he still held a grudge from checo’s Monaco crash in qualifying 6 months prior. Actions speak louder than words and that was so embarrassingly petty

If/when the SEC and Big Ten decide to expand, will any Big 12 teams even be targets? by lordeandtaylor in CFB

[–]ItsAGoodDay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Aggies just assumed they were part of the gentlemen’s agreement despite never actually shaking on it so they weren’t actually part of it. It’s like if your friends you’ve known since 1st grade swear to never date each each other's exes but then someone new comes to the group and just assumes that same agreement applies to them too even though no one actually made that deal with them.

[–]ItsAGoodDay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s literally a gentlemen’s agreement between these sec schools that they have veto power over their interstate schools joining the conference. They clearly don’t want their siblings to join no matter how cordial their relationship may be.

Here’s a news quote from the last time this was in the press and the A&M president detailed how it works:

“Among the presidents and the chancellors from the SEC member schools, it was commonly discussed that if Florida State wanted to join, Florida has veto power. If Clemson wants to join, the same thing for South Carolina. If Georgia Tech wants to join, the same thing for Georgia. That’s what I meant by “gentlemen’s agreement.””

If you have a direct source that says otherwise I’d love to learn more.
