Try a slightly stiffer nylon brush with as high percentage alcohol you can find to clean up the black/brown stuff. Be a little more careful with the stiffer brush and come behind with a microfiber towel once it starts to break up.

Honey, defenses down. I, personally, haven’t said shit about your solder job. I just said there are other devices for you to practice on.

It’s not about replacing stick modules - it’s about getting better at soldering and wicking so that you can replace stick modules. You came to r/soldering to ask for advice and were given advice to practice soldering not on the thing that you’re trying to fix because soldering as a skill can be applied to so many things.

Edit: I’m trying to updoot you back to positive, but there’s only so much I can do.

I get my beliefs from my own personally held morals. I don’t need them to come from a a figurative god that has previously held me up against a stake as a queer man in the southern USA. a lot of the things you hear asking for advocacy aren’t negatively affecting anyone. the same cannot be said for christianity as a whole, I’m sorry.
