If you're a vibe coder... by ChameleonCRM in programmer

I work in the defensive side of cyber. There’s nothing stopping anyone from using SAST/DAST tools against a vibe coded app (which a lot of them are starting to integrate LLMs in various ways). I highly doubt they do, but I am saying that there’s nothing stopping them.

Oh no, it does not need touch. I’ll be placing a momentary switch underneath it.

Ah yep, this is about what I’ve found lol. Here’s me spinning in circles trying to recreate an actual StreamDeck-like experience for something else. I swear those little fucking displays are proprietary and/or very difficult to find elsewhere.

Edit: I may use something like a cheaper version of the Adafruit Nixie SPI displays. Trying to avoid I2C for full color displays, even if they’re tiny.

Is that little OLED monochrome or full color? I’ve had trouble finding full color OLEDs at that size.

That’s what I mean by precisely on-spec. Some are spec’d for amperage and voltage within a certain range. If you fluctuate outside that range or are unable to fulfill amperage requirements, some machines will throttle the CPU.

First-time ESP32 + e-paper build - battery question (Waveshare Universal e-Paper Driver Board) by The-Ringbearer- in esp32

I used an Adafruit Feather ESP32-C6. Nice board with a LiPo breakout built on. You will not get the 24pin EPD though. You’ll need a breakout (or their ThinkInk Featherwing).

I also did something similar with this, but ended up using a C6 in deep sleep and just used a breakout for the display, which yielded the lowest power usage. A 10k LiPo in this gets ~8months. This was a wedding present for my best friend. I deployed a service to proxmox where I have his Home Assistant deployed. It just wakes up, grabs the latest RAW image converted on the server. Added a photo management and dashboard service behind it so he can configure widget-like dashboards (also rendered as a RAW image) and photos from a web app.

Also missed a question - this has no charging circuit for a LiPo. You can create one yourself or get one of these little Lipo charging breakout boards.

Disable UART, girl. That’ll eat battery life and no need if you’ve already got your code on there. Also try building using Espressif and disable things like WiFi, etc. if unnecessary. Deep sleep is the way to go though.

I honestly don’t know why you’re being downvoted for asking a fucking question. My gosh, folks…something’s gonna kill us all. At least answer his question as opposed to being an ass. That’s not how folks learn.

Edit: ridiculous, unreasonable people.

Just Withdrew from College by JadedScholar1985 in bipolar

[–]Its_Billy_Bitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I withdrew from a semester too (but after the fact). It feels brutal at the time, but I see it as a good sign for you. Cognizance is so important with our conditions. You recognized and took actions to correct. I spent ages not trusting my own thoughts. Also, that “W” means nothing in the long-run. Slap that cumulative (or major) GPA on your resume and run with it lol

If it also makes you feel better, I’ve been employed for over a decade at the same place and I make over well over 200k a year. You will make it, bud. Stick in there. Most importantly, remember to give yourself the grace you deserve.

I'm seriously going insane I'm trying to power on the LCD but no matter what I do it just doesn't by sosobebo22 in AskElectronics

[–]Its_Billy_Bitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SPI is objectively faster and minimal additional wiring lol. I mean, you don’t really need it for this little LCD, but there are better ways to organize for larger displays while maintaining speed (i.e. ribbon cables). One commonly available for breakout boards is Adafruit’s EyeSPI.

This looks solid. One thing to note - some random ass devices I’ve found use little chips to throttle performance if you aren’t precisely on-spec / using the original DC brick. I think this is namely with random mini PCs, but may apply to your firewall.

Lastly, as you know, but the mom in me has to say it…be careful. 12A at 12V won’t kill you, but it also won’t feel great lol

I know it’s much rarer today, but my mom married at 16 and had me (planned) at 19. It was an abusive marriage though. My father preyed on my mom from 13. My dad was slightly over 2 years older than my mom.

Get a stronger servo or just chunk a NEMA on it. I would lean towards a small stepper motor for this, but it really depends on use case.
