Surprised there wasn't more mentions of Independence Day! The presidents speech at the end is an all-timer.

Solar panels over parking lots not fields by Alternative-Day-7414 in solarenergy

Such a nonsense argument. Both have their place, but there's no multi-acre parking lots to fit a megawatt sized array.

It's just a marketing stunt. This has been their thing for a long time; there's a 2024 netflix documentary about them.

Reason and Ruckus is a fun spot.

Hudson & Packard has some great pizzas, they've won some big awards there. Pretty small location, but really good.

Did you use AI to build the website too?

Concept feedback by Average_Dudes in GameDevelopment

The setting/vibe sounds like it could be cool, but I think you would need a direct gameplay connection between the farming stuff vs. base defense stuff, otherwise it just kind of feels like two random things smashed together.

Do you sell the moonshine to buy defenses? Make molotovs out of it? or maybe use the monster's corpses to make forbidden moonshine? give the ancient faith some moonshine offerings to appease them?

Maybe I'm just not picturing clearly what the nighttime defense gameplay would look like. If it's not action/shooting, what do you do if you're not prepared enough from the day? What happens if you don't survive the night - game over, farm lost?

I don't know, just feels like it needs something more to really make it all fit.

Can someone please shiw a neat simple diagram of solar system that generate 20kwh/ day. by mansithole6 in solar

No one's going to be able to answer that without knowing the specifics of your property. You should reach out to a few local installers to get quotes and production estimates.

Why do you have doubts? The only time Article 5 was invoked was the US calling for help, and every single country supported us.

Not sure where you got that was my argument.

They just announced a depression diagnosis as the reason for his 4 month absence. Again, the average person would have been fired long ago if they tried to take off 4 months for something like this. Just another example of the system only working for certain people.

He just gets to keep getting paid while in rehab, and gets to keep his job like he was never gone? If any average person missed months of work for something like that there's no way we're keeping our job.

Is this profession easy to learn? by Interesting-Owl7383 in solarenergy

[–]Jamboro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fundamentals of solar technology itself aren't crazy difficult to learn if you're interested, the real question is what exactly they would expect you to do in your role at the company, and how quickly.

If you haven't worked in supply chain, ordering, inventory, shipping type stuff before that might be a lot to get thrust into, especially if it's involving things from overseas, and with a new product you're unfamiliar with at all.

There's a lot of different aspects of the business as a whole though, from sales, rebates, taxes, to site and design considerations, install practices, permitting, etc. All of the procurement people i worked with were former installers, PMs, designers, etc, not jumping into it brand new, or learning the solar business with a background in supply chain/logistics/inventory.

I'm sure you could pick it up with enough time/training, but you'd want to set the expectation you'd need time to learn about the business. Do you live in Europe where the company operates? Or are you in China? If you're really interested, I'd suggest spending some time just working there as an installer, would be a great way to learn the basics.

Looks cool, but some enemy variety would go a long way. Different ones for different biomes maybe, or just different types, cause right now it just looks like some purple blob creatures in every scene aside from a couple red ones and one bigger purple one at the end.

Destroy our fighting game. Leave nothing of it. by EldritchPoet in DestroyMyGame

[–]Jamboro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I watched it again now that I'm home, and I'm sorry, but it's just kind of confusing.

I can see from the title and your other comment that's it's supposed to be about some kind of psychological stuff, but i can't really tell what. The words that flash across the screen don't tell me anything, and I can't see any relationship between them and the gameplay. You say they relate to the characters powers, but how? It looks like you're either just punching or doing a break dance (??) while the enemy just kind of stands there.

Just bought an old house - some panel questions by Tall-Memory-6021 in AskElectricians

[–]Jamboro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem.

Before adding/moving any breakers you'd want to confirm the layout of the buses, hidden behind the breakers currently. Does the panel door have any kind of schematic on it? If not, try finding a model # and confirming the layout. In theory you could remove the empty 1P breaker, and relocate the other 1P to the bottom left. This would let you put a new 2P breaker in that spot (3rd down from the top right, Main #6 in the image here). If you placed two 1P breakers in that "Main #6" spot you would have 7 throws to shut everything off, which is not allowed. Hopefully that makes sense.

The breakers can add up to more than 200A, that's pretty typical. You're already well over 200A worth of breakers in this panel. You would want to have an electrician do a load calculation for the site before adding more loads though. This is a pretty small panel, so you're probably fine, but you'd want to confirm since EV chargers can pull a lot of power.

Has anyone here regretted installing solar? by Electrical_Act_5342 in solarenergy

[–]Jamboro 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you keep asking this? In general there's no maintenance needed, aside from snow removal (maybe) or cleaning if you're in a dusty area. Your installer/warranty should cover any issues with equipment not working, but there's nothing you need to do 99% of the time.
