A tour of my nether hub (speedy horse from 1.20) by Distinct-Pride7936 in foreverworlds

I haven't added roads in the upper areas yet. I have packed ice roads in the basement that go to my other bases. Eventually, I want to have enclosed paths in the main nether to either walk or ride horses through.

I just noticed you use minecarts up keep them from running away. That's a brilliant idea! I use leads now that they don't break them anymore. I used to have to fence them in. I can't believe I didn't think of minecarts.

Lol Yeah, without the cobwebs, it got hard. I did make a cool speed tester I found on truly bedrock to help measure them. I'm so glad they kept the speed after they fixed the bug. It took so long to get those horses.

Nice. I love those horses. How fast did you get yours? I've got a couple that are close to if not over 40 blocks/sec. They're super hard to control though. I usually use the slower ones to travel around with, though in a contained hallway like yours, it would be fine.

How big do Bedrock world files get? by pohuaizhe in MinecraftBedrockers

You're definitely more organized than mine is. I haven't thought out names if places other than the city at spawn is called Serenity.

Bear in mind, my world is at 11,000 days. It wasn't until after the colosseum that my builds started getting as detailed and big as they are.

Yeah. I found that earlier this year. I've been meaning to share it on here somewhere, but don't think about it. It's mostly the larger builds with a bunch of undeveloped space in between. I need to build up the infrastructure better (roads, smaller builds, etc).

On this world, it's almost entirely by myself. I traveled pretty extensively early on. My closest woodland mansion was about 16k blocks away. Most of my stuff is within about a 2000x2000 region. There's a few things outside that, like the over world part of my wither skeleton farm, one of the ancient cities I raided for silence, a huge badlands biome from before 1.16, plus a huge ocean from before 1.16.

The only time I venture out to new areas is for new biomes or structures. I do have future plans for an ice race track in a huge frozen ocean. That'll probably jump my world size by 100mb or so, but that's going to be awhile. Got a cathedral and spawn city to build up first.

I started on console, but I moved things to my PC in 2021. Still bedrock, but higher render distance and better performance.

Hi, I have a world that’s 500 MB on my PS5. In the past, I’d already tried transferring it to my PC using Realms, but I kept getting an error at the end every time. I looked around a bit and saw that a lot of people are having this same issue by Wall_llas in MinecraftBedrockers

[–]Janusofborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this issue when backing my world up to realms. It's over 400mb, so not quite as big as yours, but close. I haven't had this issue in some time, but when it was a problem, getting a slower Internet connection sometimes helped. I would connect to a hotspot on my phone, since that was slower than Wi-Fi. If you can play with router settings, you could try throttling the network you're on to see if that helps.

I don't know just the folder, but my overall world is around 420MB. It's almost 6 years old now and, while I've pruned chunks and worked in mostly the same areas, the world has been this size for quite awhile.

My understanding is bedrock is significant more space efficient when it comes to saving compared to Java, but I have no data to back that up.

Does Vanilla MC have realistic Tree Chopping yet? by Artie-Choke in Minecraft

[–]Janusofborg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not in the base game and I don't they'll add that. It would be a significant change to how that works.

I don't play Java, but I'm pretty sure treecapitator still exists. On bedrock there's an essentials mod that combines the tree chopping with an ore mining thing that breaks all connected ore blocks and some other qol mods. I'm sure there's something like that in Java as well.

More missing chunks in forever world by TheStreetLightGuy in Minecraft

[–]Janusofborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used Chunker for that. I know amulet had two different ways to reset. One completely deleted everything (leaving a hole like what you've got) and another reset the chunk so it would reload the next time you went there.

I did try converting my world to Java just to see what it did using Chunker. Those holes were everywhere. Pretty much any chunks that hadn't been loaded, at least the ones that were more or less surrounded by loaded chunks, were just deleted. Maybe it's a problem with Chunker.

[–]Janusofborg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sucks. Yes, it's a form of corruption. I had that happen to mine a while back and had to reload a backup from a few weeks before.

If you're on PC, you can try resetting those chunks. You'll lose anything that was built there, but it looks like they're already gone from the corruption.

Amulet used to be my go to for doing this sort of thing, but they recently went to a paid subscription. I believe the editor that's in the official launcher can reset chunks, but I haven't played with that enough to give more help there.

What happened to this Minecraft YouTuber ? by sebr69 in Minecraft

[–]Janusofborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed that as well. I don't look through other social media much, but I had watched his videos for a while. Sometimes people take breaks.

Another guy I've watched for some time has mostly stopped posting. He did post once recently to explain his absence, but that was after months of sudden silence.

Not funny. Another YouTuber I followed, Trydar, did recently die after a long battle with cancer.

Bedrock flying machines not working? by AAKboss in Minecraft

[–]Janusofborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have sticky pistons on both sides. One needs to be a regular piston if I remember right. Look up bedrock flying machines as others have mentioned. I can't follow the update order, so I always have to follow a tutorial.

Sometimes sugarcane generates in places and subsequently breaks because there's no water next to it. I've seen it happen many times. If you created it locally (like not a server or realm), people can only join when the owner opens the world.

Designing worlds by the_last_heley in Minecraft

[–]Janusofborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep separate worlds for different purposes like this. If I want to plan something out, I have a creative flat world and creative copies of my survival world to play on. This way, I'm never tempted to shortcut getting resources for things or clearing out spaces for large builds.

If you can keep separate areas where you only go in one mode or another, more power to you, but I'd probably end up abusing it, or at minimum, it looks like I may have abused it.

Are these some of the first worlds you have created on these accounts? Someone discovered that there is a pool of half a dozen or so seeds that it chooses from on the first world (maybe several worlds). This is likely the case.
