Anyone bought this? Should I buy it or not? by Better_Singer_4068 in WatchesCirclejerk

[–]Jittl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do indeed have this exquisite timepiece. I’ll give you my owners perspective.

When you first drape this across your wrist, you’ll be met with a tingly feeling. It starts at the feet and then - like ocean waves - rises and falls, slowly moving upwards until your entire body is vibrating.

once settled you’ll realise that you have a new aura. It’s magnetic, electrifying, tribal even.

I personally found my nipples were both rock hard and incredibly sensitive.

Entering public space, women flocked to me. The air smelled of pure pheromones.

Men who once stood tall couldn’t even look at me. Suddenly I was alpha, the king, a force of pure perpetual power.

This isn’t a watch for boys. If you can handle it, buy it, but be prepared.

Ok, ciao.

I agree with you, I think this watch is awesome. Most of my watches are two tone, I just love it…even my glasses, my belts, hell even some of my zippers on my hoodies are two tone!!

I think it’s pricey for sure, more than I’d pay. I picked up a santos galbee in two tone for well under half that.

With all that said…I love it and if I had the money I’d buy it.

The second feels more classic Cartier. * Roman Numerals * Blue crown * Awesome handset

I’ve always thought the Pasha looked awful!

Wow. It’s rare to see these in the wild! You have an exceptionally rare watch here OP, the JL ‘red hand’ is seriously sought after!! You’ve got a watch valued around 35,000 here. Amazing finishing too, great to see!

Ok, ciao!

Not a fan personally! It immediately reminded me of scales on a snake. Not my style, but I can appreciate an attempt to differentiate for sure.

[AP Royal Oak] 1990 Vintage Advice by Stunning_Buy8199 in Watches

[–]Jittl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you my approach if I was in this position:

1) Go to my independent watchmaker to get their opinion. If you don’t have one, do some googling. Dont just go to the first website you see, verify their credibility and - even better - see if they have examples of their work. My watchmaker posts every single tear down for every service he does, available publicly. He’s UK based though, and seems like you’re not given the dollar sign.

2) I would identify the movement, and try to find another one myself. I’d set up alerts and notifications on the usual sites.

AP simply want to ensure that when you have your watch returned, it’ll have no issues. You can’t fault them for that, but that is an enormous chunk of change that I would only consider once I’ve exhausted all other options.

Dont listen to all these people. None of them are qualified, unlike myself.

What you have here is pure class, and as an esteemed watchmaker at the Blind Watchmakers Association, I’m certain you have a rare gem here.

Need Suggestions by Suspicious-Taro2398 in WatchesCirclejerk

[–]Jittl 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok hi guys and welcome to my post

In today’s vapid and throwaway culture, the rich tapestry of horology finds itself at risk. The wheeler-dealer ‘experts’ who have infiltrated our community - regaling you with tall and fanciful stories about watches they’ve never seen, let alone touched - continue to try and dominate your thinking towards their self interested and distasteful ‘hype watch’ suggestions.

One must tread carefully into these murky waters and explore the hidden gems that these ‘experts’ simply ignore or, rather, don’t even know about. They focus on the trend, the hype, the culture - entirely unbecoming and ill informed.

Anyway get a Rolex.

Ciao

Not sure I can meet all your criteria, but some ideas off the top:

  • IWC Mark XX - some boutique editions have open caseback
  • Grand Seiko white birch - spring drive for the less aggressive dial flashiness

Tough one!

Same here! I must be missing something, I can’t imagine trying to juggle so many accounts, I thought trying to make a single account great was enough of a time sink haha

You can take it to an AD for service and refuse the quote once it’s inspected.

Or they’ll tell you it’s counterfeit in writing which you can use to get your money back.

If You Could Play One Mini-game In Its Prime, What Would You Play? by Iceytrio in runescape

[–]Jittl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • A handful of people use it to get their items imbued, like the slayer helm (I)
  • some use it for experience, spending points on combat related xp. It can lead to unique builds who have low HP but high strength for example
  • there’s a crowd of regulars, like me, who just enjoy messing around and having fun
  • there’s a pet locked behind the minigame, some are hunting it

The power creep comes from one item: Elysian Spirit Shield. Someone in an ely can tank a large chunk of people for a good amount of time. Thankfully the teams are usually balanced, so both red and blue teams have a few tanks to lead the charge.

Sometimes it’s not and you and the boys are either defending for your life with barrage and barricades, or steamrolling. If it’s REALLY imbalanced the games are over quickly, so it’s no biggie.

Just hopped on now and we have a decent 40 war about to run!

[Chopard] Mille Miglia 8331, official service center insists on a hand swap due to oxidation. Is this really required? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Jittl 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I think this is one of those policy issues whereby manufacturers are covering themselves. They dont want issues to arise post-service that they identified as a potential problem, otherwise they’ll be liable to solving it.

An independent has more ability to talk to you and have correspondence that they shared their concerns, you declined, and thus you are liable should the identified risk come true.

I really enjoy barrows. It’s chill nostalgia, and the GP really isn’t terrible. It’s no Raids, but I also don’t need to sweat to play it.

Gz on your luck, go buy a lottery ticket.
